I'm over 30 and don't have a car. Sure, you don't know me personally, but there's a growing number of environmentally aware people who aren't buying into the car culture.
Hopefully you (and your friends) will be in the minority soon.

Mobile phone charge up stations.
BTW, I use public transit all the time. I don't drive.
That's a great point. I'm a vegetarian, and I'm that way for compassionate reasons. But animal testing is bigger than people realize, and it's growing - claiming kittens on Craigslist and even house pets playing inside backyards.
Death is an act of mercy compared to what researchers will do to them. The in vivo neurological experiments conducted on cats are horrifying.
No, straight URL. May want to retry that (and thanks)!
Glad you got your cat back! The GPS collar is a brilliant idea.
Animals are deserving of help and need voices in their defense as well. Even house pets aren't safe.
I just submitted https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=6307569 but I don't think it's going to make front page.

EDIT: Sorry for piggybacking on the post. Important cause though.
Only people with no ethics or morals would take an NSA job now, no matter how bad the economy is.
Mind dropping a link so interested people can check it out?
Only now, after selling out their users and lying about it, only after seeing they can't manipulate the public with distractions, now they sue.
You may accuse others of scaremongering, but I call you apathetic and you're trying to spread apathy to others. Why even bother commenting?
Oh, I accidentally voted you up, and I want that vote back.
I like like this, and I want to support independent artists, but consider grouping similar songs together like Songza does. My .02.
Congrats on the great site and what seems like a successful launch!
I've heard HootSuite took advantage of free interns up until recently. The news of that annoyed me, since I used their services and I don't think companies should profit off the backs of students (even if the students are willing). I'll never use HootSuite again.
I was thinking along the same lines the other day when I saw a big billboard promoting Ontario eggs and how "fresh" they are.
How well the chickens are treated should be most important to a civilized society.
Was he rude? Yes. No excuse for that. But what he dead on right? Absolutely.
Ever met someone who gives a great first impression and says all the right words but later betrays your trust? I've mostly had the experience with politicians, but Google is in a position to really hurt people.
People need to get as far away from Google as possible. I think they're going to show a nasty side to their personality soon.
Why all the verbiage? The essence of Medium should be described in two sentences.
Amen. DDG has weaker results on local searches but has better, more diverse results than Google on general topics. I use it all the time now.
Screwing over your own customers... you mean like when Microsoft enthusiastically sold out their users to the NSA?
Totally. I'm sure there's a healthy percentage of visitors who will not scroll below the fold and see the description.
Microsoft are evil. They enthusiastically helped the NSA spy on their own customers. Now I hear they have a big fat contract with the US government. Shady as all hell.
I had the Lumia 920 but sold it when Microsoft betrayed my trust. Installed Mint Linux and phasing out the godawful Windows 8 too.
