I wish that were true, but I imagine the opposite will happen with AI adoption; i.e. I can see things like Electron getting even more popular.
LLMs don’t really change the fact that it still takes more effort to ship native apps, and in my experience…most people simply don’t care, users and leadership alike. It makes me sad, but that’s the reality.
I think they’re talking about going to Settings > Accessibility > Accessibility Shortcut. I just realized this was a thing, very nice.
It’s the keyboard for me. I don’t remember making as many typing mistakes when I was on an Android phone. It’s also infuriating trying to “select all” for copy or move the cursor to beginning with the spacebar motion. I swear it’s like I’m using a phone in a dream sometimes.

How is this a problem with auto formatters? This is completely on the person/team, not the tool. Even if the repo doesn’t enforce on pre-commit or something, don’t most formatters have the option to only format lines you’ve actually changed?
Mazda claims that they will disable telemetry via the TCU, but when I asked the dealership about it they looked at me like I was speaking a different language. I couldn’t get anyone who knew anything about it and ended up leaving. It’s insane to me that I have to go through hoops to OPT OUT of this stuff, and I had no choice to even opt in.

I love Kagi, been using it for over a year now. Sadly I haven’t been able to get anyone else on board, even with gift subs.
I didn’t want any touchscreens in my car when moving on from my ‘01 Integra (RIP). Got a 2021 Mazda3, and I think the layout is fantastic with the wheel and physical buttons. It also comes in manual :)
Hey, thanks for the response. I'm in my mid 30s and have considered myself a "space cadet" my entire life. School was absolutely brutal for me, and I'm still amazed at myself for getting through it. Assumed that most of inability to focus was because of mild depression and anxiety, but I'd like to see if something else is going on. Feels like I've been living in a daze for decades.

This is my first time hearing about inattentive ADHD, but it seems to describe me pretty well. Do you have experience looking into this as an adult? I feel like there’s such a stigma around ADHD diagnoses and people seeking stimulants.
The IntelliJ 3-way mergetool/diff viewer is best in class. I haven't found anything else that touches it.
I have no idea what they're talking about. Maybe they're used to a smooth scroll animation in VS Code or something? Zed feels snappier/lighter in just about every way to me.

I’m not completely against it yet, especially if it looks like I can use something like Lineage.
Software aside, I’ve heard mixed things about the keyboard on the Titan. Keeping an open mind though, I would like to support companies filling this niche.
I would be all over the Unihertz stuff if that wasn’t the case. I see people talking about Lineage working, but I haven’t looked into it.
My ideal phone is something small and rugged with physical keys that supports Android Auto for navigation and a few other basic apps I need (Bitwarden basically).
Ah yeah I love the concept of these small fantasy computers. I’m familiar with them because of Celeste, but never played with one.
I’m interested in traditional roguelikes these days (Tales of Maj’Eyal, Qud, Brogue). Ofc the dream is to make something with wider appeal, like Balatro, and get out of the rat race all together.

I’ll admit that part of my problem is chronic depression over a decade+. The idea of gamedev excites me, but I have a hard time feeling passionate about anything these days. You definitely need that for games. Hell, I’m barely able to sit down and even enjoy games anymore.

On the topic of traditional roguelikes, Caves of Qud is getting its 1.0 release tomorrow. Been in development for over 15 years now, and it’s fantastic. Can’t recommend it enough.
