Kimi Work 2 days ago

while it's true the model layer is getting commoditized, there is absolutely no way we are migrating any serious enterprise workflows to Kimi work. i think chinese models will continue to have an adoption problem.

i think an important nuance and the reason we don't suddenly have a sovereign wealth fund is it’s not a centralized US Gov buying stakes. It’s a bunch of different government entities using different pools of capital

- Commerce dept: Intel, IBM quantum, GlobalFoundries, D-Wave, Rigetti, xLight

- Dept of "war": MP Materials for rare earths, L3Harris rocket motors for munitions

- Energy dept: Lithium Americas / Thacker Pass, Westinghouse nuclear

- White House: U.S. Steel golden share

this is a pain point -- we also have .skill files duplicated across Claude Desktop and our agent's codebase and keeping them in sync is a pain.

I assume it's just something Anthropic hasn't gotten around to fixing yet. but following this thread

Claude Sonnet 5 22 days ago

the computer use evaluation OSWorld-Verified. Sonnet 5 (orange line) is a strict improvement over Sonnet 4.6

cool to see, still waiting for models to get better at computer use.

Besides just being yet another example of the Trump admin abusing power and weaponizing legitimate laws in illegitimate ways to extract concessions, there is another reason this is dumb -- which is that Anthropic just has the best models!

As someone who wants America to win, ripping out Claude and putting in xAI is a terrible idea. Definitely setting us back a few months on capabilities

Very cool post, but as someone who has been on the other side of the situation, I do have sympathy for what they are trying to accomplish.

I bought a ticket that someone had double sold, and by the time I got to the door, they turned me away and said the ticket had already been used. So their system has good intentions, they just need to make it work offline.

I have a cluster on RunPod and it's great, but there's definitely some opportunity in the space, for example if you can focus on transparency (utilization rates, more info about end user and their purpose, reporting) that would be helpful.

I think RunPod and Vast have most the market share but t's still early to the game

This is great news and required a lot of courage from Governor Newsom. He was put in a tough place between two of his largest supporters (tech and labor). Paradigm shifts like autonomy are hard in the short term, but it never makes sense to hamstring technology to preserve jobs - if that were the case we'd still be paying punchcard operators instead of using computers. Not to mention that this will make our roads safer.

Took me a while to figure out how to make an investor update in Notion with Charts, so I decided to publish this open source. Hope it's helpful. Only caveat is you need to use Notion2Charts for the charting until Notion builds charts natively

Thanks for pointing out bangs, it's definitely a good product too. I do think Jumprope has a couple legs up:

You can create your own shortcuts at https://jumprope.ai without needing to submit them to ddg for approval

You can also do alias commands - for example I set it up so "prs" opens me github pull requests page for example and "zm" opens the company zoom link

but yes looks like bangs has some cool regex manipulation but hopefully Jumprope is easier to get started with.

i think this problem happens on brave because there is no user account and it needs to have an email to create the account.

there are a couple benefits to building it this way, for example sharing commands across an organization is now possible (so for example you can create a command and make it available to your company to use.)

for example, we use it at my company AirGarage to search django admin, open company zoom links, open reports, etc and if one person adds a command everyone can use it

to be honest there is no AI yet - the vision is to have predictive suggestions, automatically open the first result on the page if beyond a certain confidence threshold, etc!

and yes, I do agree memorization is hard with more than a few commands. I am trying to solve it by adding jumps to the search suggestions, so when you type things like drive.google a search suggestion will say "tip, use gd to open or search google drive"

Replit Ventures 5 years ago

cool concept but the scope and funding seem pretty small.

seems like they are trying to do a stripe atlas play and get new startups building on REPL.
