(Possibly) not lose their shit (any definition)

This is the funniest thing I've read all day.

He's likely an llc taxed as an S-Corp. You don't pay taxes out of your business, profits after write offs are added to your return with a K1. You're likely thinking of a C-Corp.

I use Teams with one of my customers and Slack for most of my customers. I personally prefer Slack but Teams seems to get better day by day. Teams has threads down better than slack which can make it more advantageous. I think slack is better when it comes to being involved in different projects with different customers. I also prefer the ease of onboarding people to slack.

Please elaborate on "questionable corporate behavior". Everything else you said is matter of opinion and slack's growth would speak to the exact opposite.

"no encryption" - There is encryption, not end to end but data is encrypted at rest: https://slack.com/security

"horrible clients" - I disagree. They're not perfect but they work and are consistent 99.999% of the time.

"mistreatment of irc users" - People need to get over this. It's not IRC. That's like being upset that email doesn't support fax well enough.

The biggest problem with your argument is that you're talking about "cities" only and ignoring the rest of the country. Cities make up 3.5% of the US land: https://www.census.gov/newsroom/press-releases/2015/cb15-33....

I like the idea of large cities improving their public transportation systems and having parking lots on the outskirts but it doesn't make financial sense in the smaller size cities. There are lots of people like me that live in a small down and commute into a city (60k people). I'd love better public transportation but it only makes financial sense in the "downtown" areas.

The police are trained to go in first and clear the situation. The problem isn't that you should be afraid to call the police for suicide concerns, it's what happens next.

Our system has completely failed the the suicidal, mentally ill, etc. You have almost no legitimate options for help. I recently heard of a story of someone who was put in jail when they threatened their own life. It's not the police's fault though, they have no options to them.
