Stuff - Paul Graham

this isn't the greatest answer, but it's what we do: we do what makes sense based on the information available at the time. and then we adjust what we're doing based on the information gained as the project goes on. sometimes core mods have to be built first. sometimes we can grab low-hanging fruit first.

so, i'd have to say "it depends."

no one can answer this question for you, in my opinion. not without a full understanding of the history and objectives. and even then, it'll be wrong and have to be adjusted as the project unfolds.

so i suppose i agree with robmnl, but methodology alone isn't the cure.

recently i've been listening to recordings of street noise from my walk to work. it seems to be helping me achieve flow faster. i get my best flow when walking to work, so i figure i'd try it. anyone else interested in trying out some of these recordings? i'll post them if there's interest in an experiment.

we set milestones. but we don't worry about methodology.

we do feel the need to manage development efficiently. again, we're small, so we sketch the future state almost constantly. we keep the burning stuff in our brains all the time. the less important stuff either comes up again or it doesn't. most of the time it doesn't.

rightcart looks like it might work, but it's not apparent how the pricing model is structured. i assume i have to sign up to get that info. (and i'm not paying a buck for a "wink" - whatever that means.)

i'm still checking out amazon, but blinkcart is too, well, blinky for my tastes. i'm not a big fan of the lightbox effect and when the store pops up it's loud.

point of curiosity: according to your site, valleyschwag, who was your inspiration, recently decided to close up shop. what do you think you can do better/cheaper/faster to keep the same thing from happening to you?

rock & roll stew

(makes enough for 10-12, you scale it down)

10 packs ramen 2 cans peas 2 cans corn 1/2 small bottle hot sauce

heat, mix, eat. rock & roll.

let me know. i'm there. the whole midphase thing turned me off immediately. a cup of coffee does not require sponsorship...
