Real politics is 1% versus everyone. Mortgage crisis, financial bailout, inflation, taxing of labor and not the assets and assets capture by tiny percent of the population — see what MSM is pushing. This left vs right divide might been useful decades ago, but today is absolutely divide and control tactics

I feel so sorry for Arabs now, just read that paragraph about everyday experience of trying to write English-Arabic text in the mail or any other editor.

I have watched senior engineers, fluent in both Arabic and English, give up on writing a long email in Outlook on a Wednesday afternoon because the cursor would not behave, and switch to Arabic-only or English-only because the cognitive cost of fighting the editor exceeded the cost of monolingual phrasing. Actually I remember very well suffering this while using Facebook for the first time in my life, and I could not register; I was very slow typer that when I reached the moment the cursor does this weird thing, I would just stare at it and never progress.

This is the ordinary experience of writing mixed Arabic-English text in 2026, in every major editor, email client, and chat application I know of. The pettier cousins are everywhere too, and I collect them: a range like 10–20 silently reading as twenty-to-ten, because digits are weak and the dash is neutral; a trailing exclamation mark teleporting to the far end of the line; a password, toggled visible, displaying in an order that does not match what was typed. None of these are anyone's bug, exactly.

My own Cyrillic struggles are nothing in comparison.

I am yet to see that ‘companies with great ideas which simply cannot afford those very expensive developers’. For the most, issue is not programmer costs. Mostly it’s inability to formulate the MVP which makes sense.

‘uber for my industry’ is not a sensible business strategy

Honestly, if you know guys whose bottleneck is pure software dev — please let me know, I have a good, experienced team in Eastern Europe, we can do wonders in product development. But coming up with sensible business ideas and executing on them in the real world is crazy hard and extremely rare.

Language is the house of the being

I believe you are using the wrong language

some institutional sucker will buy

They are committing fraud in the high trust society. Literally sucking blood from our kids and grandkids who would have to rebuild, if that’s even possible

Reminded me of the trucks which truck the airliners in the airports

Searched for it, they are called Towbarless (TBL) Tugs, they go under the nose of plane and lift the front wheels

I don’t particularly like cars, but those ones always had my attention in the terminal :)

And tables with comparisons! Nobody makes a table by hand if it’s not packed with value. Tables in this article are not

And many others. I felt it too

And it’s a good contrast with ‘just fcking use Go’ article he linked.

Go article is much more human. I love that and would choose a human centered language and human centered culture over LLM-centered everything every time

I guess I am just old

Why oh why do you use AI to write articles?

‘This is the bit that gets lost.’ as a start of the paragraph, and then the very next sentence parroting the chapters title. 3 sentences for 0 new information and this pattern is overused to death.

Don’t you people read what you publish? So disrespectful

MacBook Neo 5 months ago

I ended up downgrading to Sequoia. Day and night difference! My air m2 16GB is snappy again!

And settings app does actually work!

I downgraded today for the first time in my life. Sequoia is crazy fast in my MacBook Air m2 16gb

Not upgrading any of my Macs ever again. I was a fanboy looking for every new update like a present, for 13 years, not anymore. It took one Tahoe burn all that trust. Never upgrading major OS versions on hardware from Apple again.

Three AI-generated positive comments in the row from new (green) accounts, with some being answered by Tailscale employees looks like AI-assisted astroturfing PR in hackernews. It’s rampart on every major social network (Reddit especially), interesting to see it live first time on the HN.

I am not anti advertising, I just think pushing AI into places were people interact is very bad behavior and should be punished.

Grok disagrees, chatGPT disagrees, freaking google disagrees. Could you provide names please?

Legal system supposed to…

Too bad it’s working only for the powerful.

Marx was right about some things…

Man, if this was irl, you'd be punched in the face or ostracized. That's a quick way to assess if your tone is right.

If you don't have a mental capacity to do that (nothing against you, some people are just born that way) — I pity you, but still, try to be 'helpful' over 'correct'. That's how civilization is built.

Wikipedia also have this problem, with moderators using some 'wiki-speak' jargon to 'win the comment battles'.
