I don't know much about network security. Is there a difference between the kind of attacks that would be caught by honeypots vs targeted attacks? Do these statistics depend heavily on how they setup their honeypots, which I assume is limited by the company's logistics.

Is this increase in CO2 a significant amount on the scale of Earth's history? How much of it was caused by humans vs natural cycles? A cursory search informed me C02 levels and average temperature was much higher during the dinosaur ages[0], what was the cause then? Note I'm playing devil's advocate here and I haven't studied climate much, but my point is the graphic wouldn't persuade someone who is already biased against human-driven climate change, and only encourages equally primitive arguments from their side.

This graphic really just plays into the hands of climate change deniers. No labelled axis, a timeline of only 100 years (you could also argue the dinosaurs caused global warming), and the quite proud declaration at the end the argument is really "no contest" under the assumption that correlation == causation. I could also make a graph that shows the increase in global temperature correlating with the rise in the Latino population, could I then declare it a "no contest"?

Having to navigate between different methods is honestly a really lame excuse for sticking everything in one method. That's what IDE's, documentation, and good method names are for.

1. It's cheaper and my cooking tastes better and is more sustainable healthwise compared to buying a dinner for equivalent cost. I didn't actually start enjoying cooking however until I started living in the city and I had a cool Japanese supermarket within walking distance. I actually enjoy grocery shopping, something I hated before, and since it's close, I don't have to think too much or plan ahead when shopping.

I host my personal website GAE. One thing to be aware of is when moving to a personal domain, you need to map to a subdomain so you can't use a naked domain[1] (e.g. 'http://github.com'). You have to map to something like 'www.'

All the manual creation of checkboxes, deletion, and moving of tasks to me makes Gist far from "The Best" to-do list. Personally, I find the lighweight Google Tasks just fine, especially since there are many excellent mobile apps that sync with it and builtin support for multiple lists. I wish the URL for it was a bit more memorable though (https://mail.google.com/tasks/canvas?pli=1). The only thing missing is date completed, which I personally don't find very useful, but a calendar would probably be better if you want to keep track of that.

The downvotes are because you are insulting a part of many peoples lives which you pretty much claim to know very little about. For one, I want bother linking because any simple search will yield the results, exercise is, not surprisingly, the root of many physical and mental health benefits. I've read numerous stories here on HN showing how it can help lift people out of depression, and exercise is important to many professions and hobbies.

But aside from the direct benefits, does marketing show healthy and fit people? Yes it does, but I'd go out on a limb and say that even without that, people of the opposite sex will find healthy physical features attractive, so you're always going to have people do it for that reason as well. It's not the most noble motive (however you define that), but you shouldn't ignore the other very honest reasons for exercise just because you hate the stereotypical gym jock.

So in other words you have high metabolism. A lot of other people do not, so it's just a bit arrogant to say exercise is 'a fad' just because of your anecdotal experience.

I thought that was a fair question which crossed my mind as well. Do your tweets belong to Twitter (e.g. can they delete/modify your content once it's on their servers)? If you post a work on a public site, without explicit copyright, are you granted an implicit copyright? If I post a jsfiddle, are people allowed to use that in their code? I don't think the questions are that obvious, at least for me with zero background in copyright law.

The credit card did it for me. I think there's a difference between minimalist and just not packing things because you have the money to just buy whatever you need later. Not to mention the ability to return home to your job as a professor.
