Yes okay, good luck with that. The strategic importance to nations is far too high, it just means astronomy will evolve to a thing where it's done from space. But if you want to be the region where you support these ideas and undermine your own political support for national self-interest then that's your choice. Europe is overrun by these professional class types with nice ideas that are misprioritized. It's like a land of people that behave like pets lacking practical self-sufficiency.

You're essentially making the case here that your work is now automated into a set of one-shot actions that can be performed by an AI model and your job has become to selectively apply these actions. That says either a) we don't do the same work, and instead you're doing some kind of low level devops function that I've only ever seen in rare cases where a human isn't needed anymore, or b) you've vastly oversimplified the software engineering you're doing.

Sophisticated chain of reasoning LLMs like ChatGPT have baked in some natural language operations and they make it so i can create at a higher level of the language expression stack. But I'm still formulating my own expression. There's no conceivable path I can see where an improved model is going to be able to do what I do. I think that is clear from my ChatGPT threads at least.

Probably a generational and professional divide. I switched to Apple after a decade of coding on Windows, in 2006 when they were known for introducing UNIX as a commercial platform that effectively killed planned obsolescence in consumer software platforms. I'm still on their system today enjoying the fruits of that pivot that Steve Jobs effected with the NeXT team.

Execution has just moved up the conceptual stack. We once wrote assembly, and then changed to higher order languages. Same is happening with lexical work generally.

Some ppl do dump trash on the street intentionally, out of laziness but also for some even their actual goal is to deteriorate a neighborhood. But you're pulling in a rare edge case to what by and large these GenAI blogs and Youtube videos are intended for. By and large ppl are trying make income. They are hoping their content will be well received and they will get repeat customers. They are trying to figure out how to use GenAI in a non-sloppy engaging way.
