No, I've used just first method and it was working fine. Btw second one seems more easier to transfer pure AutoIt code to Python due to same function names.

I used Sikuli couple of years ago, that time, it was not able to work if computer is locked (I used image hooks). However I am satisfied enough with AutoIt that, I might not look at other tools in couple of next few years, it has helpful community at forums and stackoverflow.

So far, I've used it to connect with remote mySQL/mariaDb and SQLite. In my opinion its pretty reliable, a lot than Sikuli.

You can use AutoIt's Python wrapper, its somewhat reliable and I use it in automation in production.

I used to find quality offshore leads via eLance (now upWork) & Guru, and had 90% success rate (6 years ago). I used to personalize the cover letter, like asking questions from project requirements, suggestions (if any) and letting client know if there were any concerns. Word of mouth or recommendations from some colleagues helped me acquire some clients.

My 2 cents would be to just focus on what services you can offer rightaway with your skill set and grab whatever leads you could.

#1 follow what zedshaw is offering to you and #2 if you think craigslist could help you bring some leads let me know what you can do and I will try to post ads for your service offering for you. #3 if you want to try earning (passive or something) online via some website, I can buy you domain + hosting + any script #4 [removed the text where I offered you monetary help, you must proof you are not a troll]

Agreed, additionally its majority that rules.

I believe there is a difference between tagging & thinking yourself to particular technology.

I agree that being programmer we should not _think_ that we are .Net or PHP or Javascript or XYZ Programmer, rather we should have confidence in our developerness with "loose coupling".

Being interviewer I would personally judge if the person is master in particular technology, if he/she is I would conclude that, he/she could code anything using any technology and it has been proven in my case.

May be not designers but hardcore programmers feel the same, why all the bells and whistles while the sole purpose is merely to inform your audience. There are people who still like the Linux black screen, instead of moving mouse or fingering the mobile devices, they love to key-punch the commands.

However, these kind of cold-marketing techniques will remain bubble. Personally I think we should practice white-hat techniques, it pays well in long term.

I agree, a side project that satisfy your developerness is a good thing. I see two obvious reasons myself, you learn new things & in return of your time you get some good money as well.

But I see a pain in phrase "...it doesn't compete against my day job...", I dont know why on earth we cant compete with our employer if we are investing our own time after office hours.
