Wow, talk about realising how much we rely on Slack.. suddenly I feel so disconnected and alone.
We have Mandrill implemented in a lot of past projects and can't easily switch now. We'll get the mandatory MC account there, while screaming F U to them.
What we can and will do is dissuade all future clients from using Mailchimp.
This is my partner in a nutshell. Some of the scenes are a little over the top (bowling example) but it makes the point.
I had the same impression with digital cameras, seeing visitors to my local botanic gardens wonder through and look at everything through a small lcd screen on the back of their camera, they weren't really seeing what's there or experiencing it, they were just trying to frame a picture so they couldn't see the subtleness and feel the peace that's at this place.
You see it all the time at concerts too. I'm guilty of it myself.
Because it's new in the scheme of things, we will continue to fumble around, some abstaining completely, others totally absorbed and addicted until we find a way to balance and new social norms are set, when it's not the 'done thing' to just stare at your phone endlessly while with friends etc
Very nice. When I typed the url of my own website, which is responsive, it didn't get the responsive version. If it did, it would be perfect.
I must be an idiot but unzipping the zip just shows project / package contents. http://i.imgur.com/5uUzI.png ?
How to install?
I should be able to start creating a pattern without having to register. Ask me for that if I want to save.
Waiting for the the day us New Zealanders can use this instead of PayPal.
Goes without saying that pure MDMA and "Ecstasy" as many people know it (from a dealer, friend) are two very different things.
Agreed.
A useful app, though overshadowed by the clunky looking & feeling UI.
This should be brought to public attention but the public don't want to have to download 2.8 gb of data and filter through it. Someone has to do that first and make it easily digestible, highlighting the worst or most 'dangerous' emails.
The article gave me hope. Then when I clicked through to the website and looked at the ingredients, I was let down. The 'chicken strips' seem only marginally better than the soy sausages in our supermarkets already. I guess I was expecting some miraculous new ingredient. It's nice they have amaranth in there but it doesn't exactly seem groundbreaking.

In our office, the cupboards are stocked with Coke, V, Potato Chips and snack bars.
An outdated look that shouldn't have got past concept stage. More importantly though, it still feels super sluggish for me in the latest version of Safari. I won't be visiting anymore that normally do, which is about 1-2x a month, despite knowing there is some decent content there.
Nice.
I was starting to think the same thing ;) there's surprisingly nothing — at least to be easily found anyway.
Just found that after posting. Not free, which is what I'm after.
I'm in a similar situation. I haven't left work and can't afford to but came very close to quitting even though I had nothing else to go to, just because it was making me sick and so stressed.
I still plan to leave but now am at a point where things are more manageable so I have time to plan what I'll change my career to. Whereas 1-2yrs ago, I was feeling very low, totally tired all the time, quite depressed etc.
Here are my 2 cents and what helped me:
• Try and find a girlfriend, online dating can be useful. Failing that a female travel partner. This is a big one and made a huge difference for me. The first girl I meet was really not right for me, I mean we had nothing in common but it didn't matter. It's all experience. I regret now not taking opportunities to meet girls earlier when I could have, just because I was scared.
• Travel is good, yes your problems will be with you but you will be seriously distracted, forced to look at new things, experience new things and gain new perspectives. I personally don't think it matters where you go. If it were me, I'd go to a few different places with a rough idea but try to avoid planning too much (like me, that probably goes against your nature!).
• Give the computer a break.
• Exercise is all good and necessary but not the key in itself. Though I can reccomend surfing - I started to learn and even though I totally suck, there is something about it. The message is: if you can find a form of exercise you really enjoy, so much the better,
• Don't be afraid to party sometimes, perhaps you don't have the sort of friends to do this with right now. But if you get the opportunity to go out, have a good time and get drunk do it (occasionally).
• Meditation: yep, mindfulness. Try getting some books on Zen, Adviata or by Krishnamurti.
On the flipside I've been checking HN more regularly because of it.
