Most real estate listing using a type of "HDR" exposure stacking due to the difficulty in taking photos of rooms that exposure the interior correctly and also expose the view from the windows in the same photo. It doesn't show things that aren't there, and personally I see it as acceptable, but I could see some law accidentally making it illegal.

The irony was that Sony wanted all those CDs on streaming, so they sent them to me to rip because they didn't have any other proper digital copy for ingestion at the time. (It wasn't just the rootkit ones, either, they tried a bunch of other really ugly methods across their catalogue to stop the CDs being useable in a CD-ROM drive)

This is where YouTube Music really shines, in a way. It lets every Tom, Dick & Harry upload whatever-the-hell, and as long as it doesn't ping off the major labels' copyright signatures then it stays and YouTube (supposedly) does some accounting around the back to try and figure out where the royalties should go.

I once noticed that there were eBay auctions with free shipping closing with no bids, minimum 1 cent bid. I wrote a script and bid on 1000 random items, all from China, all Aliexpress style items. Every single one of them was shipped from Mongolia.

There are honestly some really good groups on there. Sadly, frustratingly, Facebook Groups has replaced the forums of olde in a lot of situations.

In case it isn't clear, I think poster I'm replying to is referencing the fact that King went back decades later and re-wrote The Gunslinger, mostly for continuity I believe. I've not yet read the rewrite, so I'm unsure if it changes the writing style at all. (I didn't mind the first book, it's just a bit slow)

It feels like we're actually returning to the age of the individual cottage programmer. LLMs are really a force-multiplier allowing a single dev to do what was once the work of a whole team.

Absolutely agree. There's an insane "feature" of Claude Design which means you can only share the link to the design with other users on your account?! You can export the design, though, but then you need somewhere to quickly drop a bunch of HTML + assets. This would be perfect for that.
