Very glad to see EFF put this out there. We’re just some of the people who saw the problem coming before others. Now others are catching up.

Glad to see this is being brought up.
It’s obnoxious how many companies are throwing recycled plastics into consumer goods (watch bands, hats, phone cases, some clothes even) with no regard to health consequences.
I’m all about being better for the environment but I also don't want to be wearing plastic.
In the years since, manufacturing problems have emerged[1] not only in the 737 but at other factories where Boeing makes its 787 Dreamliner, a U.S. military refueling tanker and Air Force One replacement jets[2], as well as at some of its key suppliers.

A favorite of mine as well. I too was hoping for more of an appearance. I wondered if Feynman’s moment was during the first test scene where there is a spectator/scientist sitting in a car with Teller sitting in a lawn chair in the foreground. Feynman says in one of his books he noticed the car windows should block the UV radiation.
It is not the same result. Scanning on your device using inaccurate methods is not the same thing as uploading your photos.
The method that Apple is describing is going to cause more harm than good. Look how faulty their methodology is - even they agree it needs to be fixed.

It’s not the same scanning. Apple’s scanning is on device while Google and others scan for CSAM in their respective clouds.
Agree. If we had better privacy laws, this wouldn't be an issue.
Share your knowledge and experiences with those around you - I personally believe that STEM fields need to be better about a tenet found in medicine "...see one (procedure), do one, teach one..."
Make a local club, teach basics to those who don't understand computing, teach at your local college, develop software that understands we need more user friendly software in the scope of security and privacy.

The iPad is great for notes, reviewing articles, artistic stuff with the pencil.
For everything other than that, I have found it overhyped, overpriced, and severely limited in functionality.
If you’re interested, I would argue getting a cheaper iPad with the better pencil. Save yourself some money and potential buyers remorse.
I completely agree. I have thought about purchasing one of their desktops just because I like the company and want to support them for reasons above.

Personally, recognizing that my burnout was caused by one or more of the following and doing something positive about it.

I have used PopOS and I like it for the features and stability (coming from macOS).
I agree about their focus - however the laptops just look and seem out of date for the price. I see myself going down the Dell Precision or even XPS line and putting Pop or elementaryOS on it.

Look at GA Tech’s options. Not sure about associates level, but have good online programs.
I’m keeping my 12 on iOS 14 for as long as possible. Keeping an eye on this issue and their potential antitrust case.
Voting with my wallet and canceled my 2TB plan. Will not be buying any of their hardware anymore.
