The design of Pinboard exists in a similar but self hosted service called linkding [1]. I've been self hosting with Docker for a few years with no issues I can recall. Just checked and it does have the responsive forms as well.

Rufus (the ISO to Flash Drive app) recently added a feature to create a local user right into the installation media, remove telemetry, and remove windows 11 hardware restrictions. It's worked like a charm so far.

I'm a Google Fi user. To be able to make and receive voice calls from my desktop I'll have to sign into 'messages' which forces the sms part as well. I prefer to not receive sms on desktop but love voice calls.

Forcing me to sign into "messages" for voice calling is bad for my personal security. Some sites still only provide 2 factor via SMS. I don't want to be forced to receive them on my computer, when my phone is the 2 factor device.

Don't like this change one bit.

At my parents house I purchased a relatively cheap desktop with server hardware (PowerEdge T20). We planned viewing angles and doors/windows that he wanted monitored. We ran Ethernet cables and got a POE switch.

I tested out most of the non-commercial NVR software and landed on Blue Iris (the most recommended on ipcamtalk.com). Zoneminder and others were not as stable nor feature complete. My dad has the Blue Iris app on his phone so he can monitor remotely.

Blue Iris has motion detection and other common features.

Hikvision and Amcrest are often recommended for IP cameras.

ipcamtalk.com is an great resource for troubleshooting.

It's been a rock solid setup for 3+ years.

I believe Waveshare gets their panels from the same place good-display.com does. The Waveshare adapters work on good-display panels.

For what it's worth, I struggled for so many years understanding what higher level programming actually is, while simultaneously doing it. It never felt complete.

I went through Crash Course Computer Science (from John Green / PBS...) and it really helped me feel grounded.

Maybe this is attempting the same, just starting at one end of the abstractions.

I create a bookmark on the Chrome bookmark bar. More than a couple articles and it looks ugly so it triggers a read/process cleanup. Seems to work.

I hadn't heard of WhatsApp for years being in the USA. You are right that in the states texting was free much earlier.

It spread like fire with Europeans being able to text across countries. Texting was free within country, but between was expensive.

My guess is to be invited into the slack chatroom. I remember slack needing that to invite.
