Cool, so what have you personally done to reduce your co2 emissions? How do your co2 emissions compare to the global average? Or are you just pretending the problem is other people?

I don't think "better" really had to be proved. The same but aligned with your org strategy is perfectly acceptable given these sorts of technology choices are often driven by exogenous and wooly factors like licensing, your confidence in the future direction of the technology, or the ability to hire staff (or the ability for LLMs to work with the technology!)

It's very odd how quickly people fall back on emotional claims to attack this. Like we're engineers, if you can point at concrete problems with this rewrite I'd love to hear them. Obviously Jared is going to give the positive case, saying that he's doing that doesn't prove the rewrite is a bad idea. You need to point at objective problems, not your vague sense of unease. As it stands, by all available measures, this appears to have been a massive success, which is absolutely remarkable.

It's not under appreciated in the UK and Ireland where you can only buy tiny quantities of it at a time. Cash registers will literally refuse to process a sale if there is more than one pack of acetaminophen in your groceries.

On the plus side you can still buy psuedo OTC.

I've worked in support and built support products. I've seen so many people come into the space and make this same mistake. Support is not a value centre. There are some useful signals buried in there but most of the interactions are net negative, the best you can do is be efficient. Very insightful write up, thanks for sharing.

Something that really helped me understand how similar and yet bizarrely alien the 1920s are to modern eyes was watching the films of Buster Keaton. They're still pretty entertaining and relatable and all available for free on YouTube. They really drive hone the notion of "the more things change the more they stay the same".

An hour of fairly vigorous cardio every day will give you what, 3-400 kcals of extra calories to play around? Something you can easily overcome by eating a donut, which you will absolutely crave after that hour and feel you deserve. Exercise is absolutely useless for weight loss if it isn't coupled with a controlled diet.

Came here to say the same thing. It's simple to clean all the water you consume, cleaning all the air you breathe is impossible unless you want to walk around like Bane. Bizarre that they don't mention this when comparing respiratory infections to waterborne infections.
