Quite the take. We do one of the units in our apartment building as an AirBnB. It makes a bit more per month than just renting would.

It is cleaned and inspected very thoroughly between guests. We wouldn't do it if we couldn't offer great service.

Certainly would never want to show up at check-in/check-out though, and it'd probably freak me out if someone did that at one we stayed at. It's not a hotel and it doesn't need to be treated as one.

Just went through the process recently...

Luckily Urgent Care was able to go from ultrasound to CT scan in 1 day. The long wait time has come from the insurance honestly.

Had to go to a different hospital because the original one I went to has to get an approval from United before getting it done (other hospital 2 blocks away doesn't have that same requirement??)

I got referred to a dedicated cancer center and then guess what, I have to call United and ask them to approve it - but I can't get an appointment to do that for 2 weeks.

Ended up doing all the legwork on my own and was able to get a consultation done within a week. Now I'm having to do biopsies, PET scan, ect. Depending on the result I might be able to get it removed next week!

But the pain has become so severe I can't eat, sleep, even lay down without extreme discomfort. I can't imagine waiting around on the insurance to walk me through it.

Funny enough, United sent us a letter in the mail asking if I really wanted to get that original CT scan! Like no, I'd rather not know I have a 7" tumor in my abdomen. Simply a joke of an industry

I went to a startup weekend maybe 9-10 years ago. It was a lot of fun. I didn't pick the best idea to work on, just the funnest sounding. Ended up with a small team (3 of us total) and we we're one of the only ones to actually have a good demo. I try to do some kind of hackfest every year now.

There is just something magical about working on something fun and pulling an all nighter.

I'm actually using a customized version of Universal Blue that Bazzite is also based on. Very slick setup

My biggest gripe with Wayland is screen sharing/remote desktop. For my desktop PC I could just install RealVNC and have access to it on any of my devices anywhere in the world. I still haven't found a good solution for Wayland. I'm using RDP right now but it really sucks in comparison so far.

Slack screen share is kind of hit and miss as well. Not to mention screen capture being less than ideal.

I floated between Mint and Pop_OS for years, and now I'll probably never leave Fedora Silverblue. It's awesome. I just use different toolbox/distrobox for different things I need.

Most of my dev work is in a Ubuntu distrobox and I use mostly Flatpaks for everything else.

Isn't it fairly common to have different things named differently depending on where you're at in the world?

I'm assuming that Google didn't change it for how it shows in Mexico, so why do they care so much about what another country calls it? It's stupid for it to be renamed, don't get me wrong, but the outrage about it seems like it's because it came from Trump.

During the summer I was getting ~9-10 eggs a day, and we probably averaged eating 6 a day - so besides the size and taste, a big thing is that unwashed eggs last a long time.
