Did you leverage this approach to optimize terrain rendering/add detail on devices where hardware tessellation is not supported? Lovely algorithm in any case. [Edit: Just remembered the limitation is with WebGL itself, doh.]

Go to Berlin. Bring your startup there. Hang out at Sankt Oberholz. Visit Soundcloud & Google. Attend CCC/C-Base events. Attend LEAP events and teach artists/designers to code at hackathons. Enjoy the fantastic & relatively cheap living environment. Techno. I miss Berlin.

I also truly despise the phrasing "highly competitive". These kinds of classes, when you take a few in one semester, can eat your soul. They drown you in just enough material to kill that initial spark of interest. Gone is the pleasure of finding things out. And when these 'competitive' students succeed and graduate, they feel lost/void because their life is not dictated by the next exam anymore. (Yes, I learned a lot but I'm still resentful. Syllabi like these are not right.)

I just went from Lower East Side, Manhattan to living in Mitte, Berlin. You should see what it's like around here. There's simply no comparison in terms of rent, public transport, safety, etc.
