I've been using the XPS 13 for years and the 1080p screen is excellent, especially if you're coding or running multiple virtual machines on the box.

You can indeed purchase Dell laptops directly from Dell w/ next business day warranty support (this is the only way I buy them @ work).

Major syncing issues that will lead to a ton of support requests. The number of users using the application didn't seem to make a difference - our user count slowly increased, then decreased at the end. Various people had sync issues the whole time.

I'd like to see something like this redone in a lower level language - it seems like PHP isn't well suited for this task.

I'd suggest checking out Flexbackup (http://flexbackup.sourceforge.net/). It's super simple (always a plus), I've been using it for many years without fail and you can integrate encryption (http://rolandtapken.de/blog/2011-01/encrypted-files-flexback...).

I have been using the same (ish) Air that you're looking at for about a year now (this is my first Mac). I'm getting rid of it and grabbing a Dell XPS 13 Developer Edition - the screen resolution on the Air just isn't good enough, and the OS is a joke compared to Linux.

Regardless of their SOPA stance, Godaddy needs to die. They have the Worst UI ever, the CEO is a piece of excrement, their logo so god-damned stupid (If I were an employee I'd be embarrassed to wear a shirt with that POS on it), and their adverts remind me of 1990's "going out of business" furniture ads. Agreed. IMO, this is the only way to do this sort of thing. Build apartment buildings on top of or very close to data centers.

I'm totally with you on this one. XFCE is an excellent option to avoid this design madness.

The problem that I've always had with GIMP is that it (menus, macros, general UI, etc.) doesn't mimic Photoshop. If you want to go after a well established product why not mimic these things to achieve a higher adoption rate (due to instant familiarity)?
