For me, the answer to this is economics. Even if you love lisp, there are way more companies hiring for stacks that don’t include lisp

If you then optimize for employability, which I assume most developers do (not all, but a large percentage), you might end up with not that many people practicing lisp regularly

And that’s pretty much what they show in the demo, plus asking it for directions on Apple Maps (which it can also do already), and searching for pictures on the Photos app (which I just tried and it can’t do - so it looks like that’s the main feature)

The demo video there is so underwhelming. They show very basic stuff, which I assumed Siri was already capable of doing... not sure what the big improvement is

That sounds a lot like the justifications Claude and ChatGPT give when confronted about something they did wrong, or when asked to provide a customer support response about software issues

What kind of models are you including here? Truth tables can be modeled in regular code very easily and reliably. And I’m sure there are many deterministic models that could do the same. Are you talking about LLMs in particular or a certain category/type of models?

I’ve gotten some really good prints with a Qidi Q1 Pro. Have read good reviews about some of the other/newer versions by the same brand as well. They are very cheap for the features they have, and excellent quality

It is a great book. I disagree though that all modern books on this are derivatives. I haven’t read many, but The Charisma Myth is a great book on human interactions, that I believe is very novel in its content and approach

Maybe a lot of the books do cover some of the same content, but that’s probably because human nature hasn’t changed much since the 30s, when Carnegie published his book

That book is very good. However, for some (including me at some point), it can be a bit advanced

I highly recommend the book The Charisma Myth, it covers a lot of the same topics, including very good exercises, to help understand and develop human interactions in general

Personally, it helped me be able to get into, the situations that the first book assumes the reader is already in, or comfortable with (like talking to strangers)
