100K in Bay area is not equal to 100K in some other part of US. Also H1B is not only used by the IT industry but other industries as well, where paying 100K may be tough.
I do that too, and with the Amazon App you can even scan the barcode of the product you are looking in the market to compare prices and look at reviews right there. Don't even have to go home for that.
This reminds me my favorite name while testing: "McNulla". I have seen quite a few webforms which had a regex to remove any NULL string, because of which it would not take this name as it has a "Null" string in the name.
From his blog: "Unless you're so big that your reputation precedes you, a marginal domain suggests you're a marginal company."
Nice article. Its easy to confuse but I think you meant Steganography.
I thought it was a more tongue in cheek statement.

4 out of the 5 you mentioned are from IITs. The education quality of IITs vs other institutions matters a lot in India.
If you are really sure what you are looking for (which in this case looks like you are) I do not see much value in interviewing others.
On the other hand if someone were not that sure about what exact qualities one is looking for then it would make sense to interview a wide set of candidates.
I am surprised with how you are surprised my _my_ preference. Well I guess its each man to his own.
I came to USA for my masters degree in Computer Engineering. Coming from a financially weak family, I had to work in my university's dining hall for my day to day expenses. There were variety of jobs in the Dining hall, one could be a Chef's assistant, a salad bar attendant, or cashier. The job I hated the most was that of dish washing, just because you don't have to use any brain, its a very mechanical job. Looking back at my career now, I think this is the worst job I ever had.
