Hi HN, sorry for yet another AI related post =D like many of you I've been playing around with GPT recently. I set out to see if I could get a model to interpret requests and take action in an extensible manner.

At some point along this journey I discovered LangChain, which has lots of similarities. But I think one potentially novel thing for this crowd is that Bashi works by asking the model to interact with effectively a REPL, where function calls can have real side effects. On the other side there is an interpreter for a subset of javascript.

It also comes with an OSX app, so if you're on mac you can test out and hack on the proof of concept right away :)

Hope that this can spawn some interesting use cases and prove useful for some of you!

Thanks guys, this reply thread has some really good feedback. The tagline actually used to be 'a condom for your sex tapes' (hence the big camera illustration,) but it got swapped out over time as it seemed a bit of a 'strong' word.

Going to deeply consider the angle moving forward :)

Hey no problem:

1. Uses Realm for storage, encrypted with their encryption api using a random key generated on first boot stored in iOS keychain.

2 & 3. It has some rudimentary jailbreak detection but obfuscation is still in the pipeline.

(Getting late here in Tokyo so may be until tomorrow before I answer follow up questions)

OP here, this is addressed in the FAQ, I'll paste it here :)

How do I know my partner won't abuse my trust?

You can't. However with Rumuki you have the discretion to only grant playbacks when you can keep an eye on them. You also have the option to revoke all playback grants and delete the recording if trust is ever lost.

Just like how some photographers focus solely on wedding shoots, or some treat photography as art. Or how some architects specialize in copy-and-paste homes, whilst others spend time engaging with and designing something specific to the client - I think there's a huge spectrum in terms of 'creativity' for all specializations that 'make' things, and it's hard to say that one is more creative than the other.

Perhaps whether or not you're exposed to creativity depends on where you, or the industry places you in the field.. perhaps the more experienced you are in an industry, the more opportunities you have for creativity?

My significant other and I are working on a new kind of wedding registry (a wish list for wedding gifts) in our spare time: https://wed.is

It solves two big problems for us when we were looking at existing options:

- They tend to look reallly old school or lack customization

- If we chose a registry we were stuck with the products it had to offer
