I think you mean diesel-electric. They are talking about electrified miles of track which is almost exclusively limited to passenger lines in the US. Even where freight trains run on electrified track, they still use diesel-electric motors.

Rail freight and passengers mostly share the same tracks in Japan with the exception of the Shinkansen network* which is passenger only. The big difference is Japan sends way less freight by rail than the US and freight that does go by rail is scheduled at night when there are no passenger trains running.

*There’s probably an exception to the exception for the Akita / Yamagata branches that partially run on regular train lines.

There are a number of circuit breakers in VictoriaMetrics that limit the number of time series/datapoints in queries to limit CPU/RAM usage. These can be tweaked with the -search.max* command line flags. I think the default query limits for data points per series are 30M and number of series is 300K.
