I haven't been able to video chat using Hangouts for a long time now. Chrome on Windows 10 or Chrome on Ubuntu 17.10, I click the video button and... nothing.

Works on Android though.

I speak English, Spanish and Italian. I've been talking to this app for the past hour in those languages and translating to whatever languages have speech output. This is so amazing.

This was one of the easiest purchases I've made in my life. I've been following Casey's blog for some time and his Wednesdays posts are amazing.

I can't wait to start watching the videos and of course, code along.

Title refers to a pivot that came to be because of a mistake, not that the pivot itself is a mistake.

I know saying just 'Wow, what a beautiful, useful app' doesn't really add much to the discussion, but it's all I can muster.

Beautiful app. Amazingly designed. Insanely useful with zero configuration. Would love to pay money for this, especially if you can bring this sort of zero click usability to a LAN environment.

Congratulations!

I used to think that too. But then, why have a Downloads folder if you're not going to put Downloads in there? I agree that every once in a while you have to do some cleaning, but that's on the user.

Looks nice, congrats! I'll give it a try once I'm home.

Dabbling with #gamedev myself, I have a couple of questions if you don't mind.

What framework/engine did you use?

What's the font on the menu? (I like it a lot)

If you have time, I'd love to read a post-mortem.

Lately I've found myself using Firefox more and more. The last couple of weeks Chrome and Canary have been hanging a lot, especially when I want to download a file. Chrome will slow to a crawl, tabs will stop rendering and when I try to close it thinks it's still downloading something.

As someone who's been using Chrome since the first public release I wish it were a bit more stable (for me at least).

I switched to Dvorak about 7 years ago. In hindsight I probably should have stayed with Qwerty.

Nobody can use my machines. My girlfriend already knows to Ctrl-Shift to change keyboard layouts, but that's on my PC where Windows is in English. On my laptop with Windows in Spanish it's Alt-Shift. Even I get confused sometimes.

Most games I play don't recognize layouts, so WASD doesn't work. I have to Ctrl-Shift before launching a game. And that's on Windows 8 that has per-session layout. Windows 7 is per window layout so if Ctrl-Shift doesn't work inside the game I have to manually configure keyboard.

Copy Cut Paste become Ctrl I, Ctrl B and Ctrl . I think this is not a problem in Colemak.

My first language is Spanish. After learning Dvorak I no longer use accents or ñ (just Alt-164'd that one) so it's a pain when I type something more or less official that can't have spelling errors.

After that rant, I'm still relatively happy with Dvorak. At least I have something to say on job interviews.

I'm reading in the comments that there's more on the page if you scroll. I'm using a laptop with no mouse and no scroll on the trackpad and neither Page Down nor Space nor the arrow keys work.

Hoping to try it out, I'm mocking up a website with Bootstrap and changing themes a bit and doing it visually sounds interesting.
