I mean natural variation as in genes. Trauma often triggers mental health problems, but there usually needs to be genetic susceptibility as a foundation for it to happen.

Could it be that everything we call mental illness is just natural variation of people's psyche, at the ends of the bell curve?

Many of the mental illnesses are of course bad, but in an evolutionary perspective it makes sense that we have these variations in a population, to optimise adaptation.

A dumbphone does not have imessage, dictation, voice memos, timer, and other small things that makes life more convenient. That's why I prefer apple watch.

I also recommend getting an Apple Watch with cellular – that way you can still be reached for emergencies, while not having access to any social media or other distractions. Since I got an apple watch I find myself leaving the phone at home more often.

Perhaps my favorite game of all time. I liked all of the Lucasarts adventure games, but this one was special to me. Completed it 3 times since it came out. I think it is something about the characters, the story, the world and the ambience in it.

If the problem is social media app addiction, I have found the best solution is to turn on screen time, whitelist your most important apps like messages, calendar etc. and then enable a passcode to access any other app. Ask a friend to set a pin code for you so you cannot cheat.

Another solution is to just use an apple watch with cellular as your primary phone. It has everything you need (spotify, imessage, etc.) but nothing that distracts you like youtube, tiktok etc.

Just buy premium. Not only do you avoid ads on all your devices (tv, phone, computer), you also get background playing of yt videos on your iPhone, which is an awesome feature. Not to mention, you support the livelihoods of the creators you watch (they get 55% of that money!)

I love my Apple Watch ultra, because with cellular I can use it as a phone – a very lightweight phone without social media distractions.

But I have to say I am a little bit uneasy about having a cellphone strapped to my arm.

Just get the youtube kids app. It only contains preapproved videos that are fine for kids. Works great.

Problem is that everyone just blocks the ads and forget to pay the creators directly, which by the way would be extremely costly and time consuming if you want to pay everyone you watch, therefore the need for a product like YT Premium...

The problem is that most people don't subscribe to hundreds of Patreon creators. It is actually REALLY hard to have a substantial income from Patreon unless you have like 1 million subscribers on youtube. YT Premium+Ads is the next best thing and makes most creators a lot more money with less effort.

This is bullshit. I'm a full time youtuber, and creators get 55% of that money, and we really appreciate that income stream.

Youtube is actually one of the good companies out there when it comes to paying creators a fair share. No other company that I know of pay creators this well, and it is probably a big reason for their continued success.

Tried using an iPad pro as a workstation. Terrible ergonomics. iPadOS multitasking is a terrible experience. USB-C transfer speeds were bad. Overall very disappointed with the experience. Went back to Macbook Pro after a couple of weeks of pain.
