I have a setup similar to this:

  laptop - user (userid: me)
  F - firewall (userid: me)
  A - machine 1 in colo (userid: colo)
  B - machine 2 in colo (userid: colo, machine I want to access)
  C - machine 2 in colo (userid: colo)
  .
  .
  100s of machines.

I am able to log into colo@A via F w/o password as I copied the ssh key there manually. (path me@laptop -> colo@F -> colo@A)

QUESTION: Is it possible to ssh to other machines (B,C..) via A while assuming full identity of colo@A? (Path would be me@laptop -> colo@F -> colo@A -> colo@B/C/..) With my current config when I try to ssh to B it knows request is originating from 'laptop' and still asks me for password.

Can you share your experiences -- how you promoted your previous apps?

Developed over the last few months - Just a fun way to browse 180+ comic strips on the iPad. There are a many loose ends as this is v1 - but we already took too much time to develop this and wanted real feedback before working on new features.

I have a few coupons to enable free downloads, message me if you want them. Also, what are good ways for generating some buzz? We are already contacting relevant bloggers/forums.

Thanks, I had done a Google query - "site:news.ycombinator.com evaluating idea|ideas" and most of the good results didn't come up on first 5 pages. Changing "evaluating" to "evaluate" in the query gives much better results, still I wonder why they are not stemming [or something with similar effect] right away..

Should down voting some one also negatively affect the down voter's karma? It will help restrict the number of down votes anyone will give..

Would some research in the field help ? I am reading http://presnick.people.si.umich.edu//#publications for a term paper, seems very relevant. If anyone has read his work before, can you tell us what is applicable to HN case? I'll post back something when done reading!

The author paints too grim a picture of mainframes. Isn't legacy code supposed to be that way? As far as I know, not many new code projects are being done on mainframes. But whatever is there, has to be maintained/upgraded. Mainframes are NOT as difficult to use as the author says. They power most of the big life/general insurance companies, and they do interface well with front-ends [with XSLs in middle to convert from/to string streams]. I have worked for two years on mainframes, and loved the simple editor. Like with any command-line type editor, it has its quirks, but once you learn it, it is very fast. Also, z/OS has some version control systems (Endevour), and really good debuggers.

I do not go to google.com and then search all that often nowadays. Most of the search takes place right from the search box (Firefox) or directly from Chrome..

Why are all the better off and useful sites are getting such "your design is a mess" reviews - Zappos, Craigslist, Amazon. I am sure Zappos has a team dedicated to designing their site to the last pixel.

Google had tried this previously in Froogle, and failed. Now they have done it pretty nicely. I had been expecting this since they introduced Google Squared, which solves a much more general problem than this.

Would this wipe out number of players in "price comparison" space ?

Going by that, even skinning your browser or adding a wallpaper will be called "customization". For people who do not change their computers that often, it is okay to customize to make your screen look prettier. I myself use 2 diff OS on 3 machines regularly, so not much customizations for me :(

It slows down the system a bit though.
