i believe you would need new hardware to ENCODE AV2 video but DECODING AV2 video should work on current and a fair bit of older technology. The folks of Videolan are developing an AV2 decoder called "Dav2d" that should be able to play (decode) AV2 on modest hardware today.
if you are in the apple ecosystem the Infuse video player can hook into jellyfin and it has a pretty nice UI.
i wonder how long until this struck down as unconstitutional
Senheiser's CONSUMER side of the buisness is basically dead. Senheiser still makes headphones and such with the focus more on business/production products
reminds me when google introduced radar for their pixel phones called project soli. https://research.google/blog/soli-radar-based-perception-and.... i have a feeling that these will be as successful. its a solution in search of a problem in my eye
This will go absolutely nowhere and personally am tired of hearing about some good bills that become nothing. The US will not even let the military have the right to repair. https://www.theregister.com/2025/12/09/us_military_right_to_.... The US is beholden to defense contractors and corporations. The government cares very little if at all about the quality of life of anyone
while id love a more affordable EV for sure I dont see that happening anytime soon in the US with current administrations hatred of electric vehicles. Second, i dont understand how a website dedicated to car news thinks a very small car will sell well in the US when it sadly seems clear to me that the vast majority prefer larger cars for at least the last 30 years.
Like others have said to justify their spending/make shareholders happy. its exactly like why is web search a part of windows search feature ? The answer is simple: gotta make Bing look good to shareholders
while arctic make fairly good high performing fans for cheap their bearings/acoustics are kind of bad. i bought 5 of the original p12 max fans with the ball bearings. they all made a chirping noise at various rpms (even after getting 5 new ones from arctic). the new p12 pro fans perform great but around 1200 rpms the motor is very loud and annoying
really wish arctic would now focus on the acoustics of their fans because its there weakest point. i wouldnt mind spending a bit more per fan if the sound profile wasnt just straight terrible which personally theirs are to me at the moment
For those curious meta actually bought out a company that orginally pioneered this idea (wrist controller) from a company called CTRL+Labs in 2019. Here is a verge article that has some photos of the prototype from CTRL-Labs. https://www.theverge.com/2018/6/6/17433516/ctrl-labs-brain-c...
THe same people who wanted web searches to appear in windows search bar, the higher ups at microsoft. they juice their numbers and say "See, look how many people are using our recall product. just like "See, look how many people are using Bing (in case of the web searches in windows search).
Here is an article from Johns Hopkins with a little more information on the newly created material. https://www.jhuapl.edu/news/news-releases/250521-apl-thermoe...
might i suggest purchasing a bidet. you can get one for less than $50 on amazon and it will help you dramatically cut down on toilet paper. it also makes you feel so much cleaner. my two cents
Look at your local community colleges if you are in the US. a lot of them have classes for simple every day car repair to classes to become a certified mechanic
if there are harvard alum are cheering this on they are morons without a doubt. Trump couldnt care less about truth seeking in the slightest he just wants complete and full control with his delusional backwards thought process. you can want change on something but that doesnt mean that when another individual/goverment comes along theyre going to change something for the better.
people were unhappy with bidens handling of israel so they voted for trump and where did that get them?
I agree, it was very annoying hearing how great the economy was doing when inflation and just the general cost of living rose significantly starting with covid and when anyone tried to have a talk about that a lot of people would just parrot how great the economy was doing and everyone they knew was doing fine. thats great for you but that doesnt mean what your experiencing is what a lot of other people are.
"For instance, educated professionals were a major base for the original Nazi Party." Thats not entirely true. While there were definitely many people in education who supported the nazi party there were still quite a few in the education field during the beginning of Hitlers power who were not and many fled to other countries starting around 1933. https://pubs.aip.org/physicstoday/Online/5299/The-scientific.... it was why albert einstein spent a great deal of time in the US.
Through laws they shaped and molded the education to be inline with nazi ideology and only those who towed the line were allowed to continue to teach/study. heres a small article from the US Congress (shocked its still up) that discusses higher education in germany during nazi occupation. https://www.congress.gov/118/meeting/house/116973/documents/...
Basically if you disagreed with the nazi party you were fired/expelled in the beginning and later sent to camps. the entire point of studying history is so we dont repeat it and just looking at the amount of US universities bending to the republican parties ideals on what they believe is scarily similar to early nazi germany.
I dont get how people dont understand that the strength of the US for the longest time has been our diversity; especially in education. hell, after world war 2 we actively recurited many nazi scientist to help us with the space program https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Paperclip many would argue it is the reason why we beat the soviet union to the moon. the harm that is slowly being done to this country will take decades to repair if it can be and i dont believe that is being hyperbolic
For those who have tinnitus there are two sites i like to visit. one is a site that tracks new/experimental treatments for tinnitus (gives me a little hope on bad days) https://www.tinnitustreatmentreport.com/
the other is tinnitustalk support https://www.tinnitustalk.com/. it also covers upcoming possible tinnitus treatments and ways of coping with it
you could have gotten tinnitus from medication. some medications (quite a few of the stronger antibiotics) are known as being ototoxic. my tinnitus started while taking antibiotics for a bad infection. I cant prove it was my antibiotic, but the antibiotic was ototoxic
Why do we have to reinvent the wheel! We have the program and its been established for over 3 decades.
Im so tired of the arguement of its not perfect guess we should get rid of it, start from scratch, and the new system will have none of those problems.
This isnt about government excess spending either. If the government was really concerned about excess spending they would take a real deep look at DOD spending and the number of cost plus contracts
actually its quite the opposite. because the hot water is constantly recirculating its hard for the bacteria to grow. Kind of like why they say never drink from stagnant water but water that is flowing is safer (not neccessarily safe to be clear)
you could never solve the problem of completely preventing a child or anyone from that matter from doing something if they are determined enough and you are naive in thinking so. should we remove all forms of encryption because pedophiles/terrorists use it?
if a child is determined to see naughty things online theyll just find a website that doesnt care about facial recognition laws while our privacy is still stripped away even more. So we lose more privacy as a society and kids still see what they desire just taking them a few minutes/ at most hours longer.
once again being a parent and paying attention to what your child is doing online or just talking to them about it. you choose to be a parent and that does require work to do a good job at it
Youtube channel Torque Test Channel did a video on various new "tabless" batteries from various tool companies and most do provide more power per amp compared to the older models.
I am getting sick and tired of the thinly veiled excuse of "we need to strip away more of your privacy in order to protect the childen" we all know they are doing it because they want to surveil/track you more easily.
and for those that think they are actually doing this to protect the children and you are concerned about what your children sees online this might sound a bit harsh but why dont you actually parent. Stop giving your kids unlimited access you tablets/computers etc. back in my day there was the option of having a single computer for the child in a public room that could not be moved. you could create whitelist only sites nowadays very easily even for laymens.
i understand it is a bit harder nowdays because more parents are both working to support the family but i rather not loose what little privacy we have left as a society because its requires more work for you to parent
So is Trump going to every few weeks pick a fight with a country, institute tariffs, tank the market, then remove them so him and his cronies get even richer? Great.. Im sure this will have no negative effects at all...
There is an MIT spinoff company called Aeroshield that has created a very transparent version of aerogel to be used for very energy efficient windows. From the website they plan to have products for sale in 2026. It will probably be expensive but it is interesting. https://aeroshield.tech/
how about instead of complaining about a comment you disagree with you actually post a counter argument. Id like to see one actually.
Something similar to Firefox Sync is Floccus. If you only need bookmark and tabs sync it looks straightforward in setting up
Maybe its time we stop seeing housing as an investment and more of a place to shelter oneself from the elements. One of the core pillars of survival
