I'm using Zed for a couple of months now. As a Vim bindings user, my personal fav Zed feature is that the Vim bindings really work.

Zed is made by people who used Vim themselves.

With news like these, I always take the lesson: Nothing free lasts forever. If you are not paying for the product, the product doesn't last for you. You will have to migrate or pay eventually. They don't owe you anything if you don't pay.

Every big company has (and if they don't, they should) style guides. In Ruby people tend to use something like Rubocop (which is a static code analyzer/linter) to agree on a style. That will even be added as a default in Rails 8.

For me it made a lot of sense. Ruby developers don't like types as much as in other languages. By far the majority of Javascript made by Ruby/Rails developers is vanilla. Turbo is a library used mostly by Ruby/Rails developers.

As a Rails developer myself, it was much harder to contribute to Turbo. I had to learn Typescript before doing so, which makes the bridge too high.

90+% of the people who were complaining didn't even know Turbo existed.

Could it be communicated a bit better? Yeah sure, I give you that. Is it bad moving forward? Maybe initially as there were broken PRs but I think eventually it is in a much better place. In my opinion.

This is unfair in my opinion. China produces more or less the whole world. Look what you have in your home and check where it is made. My guess is that 75% is made in China. So stop buying stuff from China and you do the world a favor.

It should be calculated by indirect impact per human, per country, instead of where it is made.

While they were upgrading, Github added a lot of their own core features into Rails itself. Like multiple databases supported by default, parallel tests for a much faster test suite. Github didnt just upgrade their Rails version, they upgraded Rails itself partly.

This isn't something bothering me. What is bothering me is more than I get the same notifications on different devices. I get Read This Email on my phone. I read the email, 2 hours later I pickup my iPad and I see the same notification while I already dealt with the email.
