Also very fond of the Roborock S5, in fact I recently got a second one for the other floor - totally took it apart, cleaned it, put it back together and stuck Valetudo onto it. The first one is from 2017 and still going strong - issues so far: battery replaced (only recently), laser motor replaced, fuse replaced. Aside from the fuse it was very easy and doable for basically anyone.

Password App surely is a good alternative, however i don’t think there are clients for Linux or Windows? …and that is where Bit/Vaultwarden comes into play.

Which ones?

A colleague drives a BMW 3something hybrid and as far as i know has a 14kWh battery..

Thats good for about a 100km, but i very much wouldn't consider that a "fully" electric car by any means (edit: did you edit your post? couldve sworn you said "fully electric" instead of "mediocre range"?)...

Also, what most people don't realize: if you're only (or mostly) driving it electric, you're putting many more cycles onto that tiny battery.

...which usually costs as much as a "regular" EV battery, x times the size.

https://evclinic.eu/2024/09/05/bmw-hybrid-repeated-battery-f... for example...

Except Jobs approved the design of that screen

..which they, as far as i recall, pretty much stole from WebOS back then..

(well, the functionality aspect of it at least)

Sure, they're so far up in Germans automakers asses, they don't know it any other way.

One of the reasons i quit my 20 year+ membership with them.

I mean - have some bias? Fine with me, i can read between the lines. Come up with ridiculous crap and reasons to favour domestic brands? There is a line, at least for me and many others that do know when they're intentionally ignoring, downrating, downplaying etc. etc. etc.

Another example? German IT magazine "c't" by heise recently featured a test (4/2026, page 16ff.), in cooperation with ADAC, about subscriptions in electric vehicles - actually one thing where Tesla shines (it's a flat 10€ per month, other countries get a 99$ a year deal) - others don't even bother listing prices until you order, for example.

With no single word that test mentioned Tesla (yet, priding themselves having queried 16 brands for information) - only in the final table overview, there indeed is one column for them.

The bias is showing, it's ridiculous and they can, as far as i'm concerned, go the way of the dodo.

Most Asian countries either have no charge stations or very few

I think Vinfast would like to have a word with you…

I think you accidentally a verb.

Totally reminded me of the old meme "i accidentally a coca cola bottle, is that bad?" :D

To be more on topic: yup, Casio fx-85ES - still going strong, needs basically no maintenance at all and having tactile buttons you can mash while sitting over a piece of paper just has no comparison.

Must be that way - watching "an evening" (yes, i just made up a time unit) of Netflix consumes 1/4 to 1/3 of the bandwidth "an evening" of consuming content on AppleTV+.

So, about 10GB or less on Netflix to 30GB or more on AppleTV+, dissected by DPI on my TP-Link Omada Gateway.

And indeed, i think it shows - i can't notice any banding or moire effect on pretty much any AppleTV+ content, while it is as clear as night and day that Netflix compresses the hell out of their content.

I kinda agree in the way that having synced notes (a good feature in itself, also available on iPhone/Mac) would probably suffice.

Still, being able to copy and paste not only text but also images between devices seamlessly is really nice, not to mention i can open an open browser-tab (Safari, iOS) in Brave on the Mac by just clicking the icon that has a "mobile device icon" next to it and it opens the same tab on the Mac...

And yes - as i said - i agree that having a synced note app would probably enable the same usecases, but with distinctly more friction (at least in my books).

My journey is quite similar, although I haven’t migrated (back) to Linux and not away from iPhone yet.

Do you have a writeup of that, somewhere? How do you manage without device interoperability (i.e. copy and paste between Mac and iPhone)?
