Actually it does show the desktop, thats how sad it is.

The guy made some rainbow colored Chrome OS logo which isn't even correct, google never uses rainbow colors beyond the "Google". It looks like XFree + some crappy mac-like window manager.

I thought it was common knowledge that microsoft is announcing the RTM sign-off on Monday 7-13-2009. This has been known for a while.

WZor.net has more information but they should be choosing which candidate build is the RTM shortly, and then an officially announcement will come Monday.

From google's blog post I'm under the impression that while based on a linux kernel it will have very little actual code from linux. It sounds like they are writing their own version of X with a minimalistic window manager.

I very much like the look of the chrome browser so I'm looking forward to checking this out. Specially since I'm one of those that doesn't do much on his home machine besides web based stuff.

Taken a little bit too literally. I meant that he should share his dilemma with her. How she is a very important part of his life but so is the startup. However even if taken literally I doubt she would react the way you are saying. From what he's said she sounds like a tech literate person and may have even posted a question of her own somewhere on the tubes.

The first thing you should do is essentially read her what you've typed here. It sounds like your relationship would benefit a great deal from some openness. She isn't going to react to this badly.

And in my experience with women, a little bit of time goes a long way if you do it right. Surprise her with flowers. Take her on a picnic. These things don't take much time but give her something to brag about to her lady friends.

You'd be surprised how just a few hours a week can convert a downward spiral relationship into a flourishing one.

It would be unreasonable to say everyone falls neatly into that category. I like the idea. It might make some iPhone owners more likely to lend out their stuff. People that wouldn't normally.

This made me laugh pretty loud in my cube. This is exactly like a lot of the applications at my company. Scope creep really runs rampantly during the development process here.

My Visual Resume 17 years ago

I think this resume stands out perfectly for the type of job he's trying to land. Sure this resume falls flat for a company looking for specific skills but I think this is more geared towards a company and position where they aren't sure what they want until they see it.

I'd definitely spend the time to figure the whole thing out if I got a resume like this on my desk.

I was expecting an article by someone arguing this point. Sadly it is just a screenshot of a typo on the internet.

People test antivirus software by throwing a certain number of virii at it and seeing what percentage of those are detected. This is their detection rate.

Just because Antivirus A detects 99% and Antivirus B detects 85% does not mean users of Antivirus A can expect more false positives. If anything, the better designed software should yield less.

Also: Yes, I have used endpoint protection. It's forced onto my work laptop at the office. It has a tendency to KILL my systems performance randomly, even when not performing a scheduled scan. 8mb of ram, while impressive for a symantec process, is simply an arbitrary number if any type of disk access gets slowed down by the service.

Standard executive talk. He's oblivious to the fact that many of the free offerings have higher detection rates than his companies products while at the same time have a much smaller footprint than any product they will ever make.

I believe this article spent a bunch of time on the front page a couple days ago.

It's an awesome URL to snag. Also a great time to open to the public with a lot of new gadgets just hitting mainstream.

Also there is much to be said for the simple layout. Good looking and functional.
