Why haven't states setup Covid only treatment centers to relieve the pressure on hospitals? Sure there are only so many nurses and doctors but reducing regulation on who could work in these centers would fix that.

Health care costs in the US can have the same effect on the population as a tax even though it does not get go through the government. The goal should be to lower the healthcare cost per person, not squabble about who is paying.

The Netflix API does not let you create a player. As far as I know Netflix built the player for every device (Ipad, Playstation, Blueray...). If they did not build the player for a device they had to give the device manufacturer a secret API that I am not aware of.

Also, for the curious, their player is all HTML5 driven. They basically compile a browser for each device and build the UI with HTML5.

The next lower level of wealth will be the digital rights owners of commodity items. The rights owner of 'Shovel' will start a dynasty that will last for hundreds of years. They could potentially be powerful enough to extend copyright laws forever so that they continue to collect rent on the shovel.

I think an easy way to improve the health care industry would be to quadruple the number of urgent cares and keep them all open 24 hours a day. Financially the system encourages urgent care use, but they are often tough to access. Many times in the middle of the night we have to consider taking a child to the ER or just waiting until morning.

I don't know if this would improve general health, but it sure would make me feel like I am getting more for what I pay.

If you look at the numbers as percentage of income instead of dollars then we can see the percentage of income that an item costs go up if the item has advanced (ie better cars, better refrigerators, better houses). If the percentage of income for one item goes up it must go down for another. Since no technologies get worse over time which expenditure is suppose to become less of a percentage of income over time?

I hear the argument about how products have improved over time and how that justifies their increased price and I don't buy it. It makes sense if people still have the option of buying the 1980s house in which case purchasing a 2012 house would be an expensive luxury. But people can't get the 1980s house for the 1980s price so we must conclude that housing prices have inflated.

Your example is the opposite of the current situation. If we assume that home prices are determined by monthly payment then that would explain why the price increased as rates dropped.

Then you had a low price to rent compared to payment to rent ratios. Today you have the opposite: low payment to rent and high price to rent ratios. If rates rise with prices drop?

I would love to use it but my company would veto this product based on security concerns. At a minimum we would require a VPN connection to the cloud and the ability to limit (or cut off entirely) access to the web interface. You guys could have a huge product if these concerns are addressed, but based on Google's history I do not think they will be.

The only constructive comment in the thread has been sunk by downvotes. I don't know why people hate these pre-processors so much. Coffeescript threads always have a fair amount of people complaining although Coffeescript has been pretty successful.

I think the best part of the pre-processors is that it does not force the entire community to adopt the syntax and allows some to play with new language features.

This is getting absurd. Many sites cache images. Maybe somebody should come up with an images/content cache agreement that content owners can opt into. Not opting in means no love from Facebook, Google images, Pintrest, and the thousands of other traffic sources.

Try PhantomJs. PhantomJs works better than JSDom b/c JSDom can break on non-compliant pages.

If an indie artists created a song a studio could immediately remake the song and sell it before the artists had any distribution in place. 2 to 3 years should give the artists the opportunity to make some profit from his music.

I think copyright length is the biggest issue, I don't see why it has to be more than 2 or 3 years. Imagine how much different things would be if copyright expired that quickly.
