If it were me, I'd just setup a PPC campaign in Google Ads and not worry about it anymore.

I'd imagine your brand name carries a low CPC, so the cost to ensure potential clients find you would be pretty low.

Use [exact match] keywords, campaign goal of clicks, and a pretty basic/clean ad with some sitelinks.

Worst case, you're really visible and it adds some authority to relevant serps.

I would say the act of "Pinning" an article of digital content is an act of comment. It is shorthand for "This is really interesting to me. Maybe you'll like it too?"

Just go for it. Don't worry so much about things like this. Give your project passion, that's all it needs.

I've worked with numerous retailers who use something like this. Usually an eMail server just makes a ping when a payment notification comes in.

Seeing everyone's successes, silly stories with the gang, witty blog post, mind-blowing hockey-stick-shaped-charts of "how we got to our 900 millionth user!" ... I'm working 12 hour days doing like 11 jobs, making just enough money to convince myself "in just a few months" I'll find that thing that ticks and then it'll be us making hockey-stick-shaped-growth-charts and finally buying that island ive had my eye on... but even then, the island isn't totally private, so i should probably work harder then i can get a bigger and more private island, one that is fire-resistant and erosion-proof. But shit, look, is that guy competing with me? Do I need to burn his island down? Are there enough customers? Where's the money gone? Wait, why aren't there any customers? Where's all this retail revenue going? I don't see them in the stores, the postal service can barely make ends meet (must not be ecommerce), and then the search volume is low, too, but the customers are coming in, we're selling stuff, we promise... not in America, you're not.

I always want something me and my music nerd friends can play with and share. Like keep a playlist going in the office but let any people add to it.

I read and enjoyed your post. Like you, I too was disappointed the conversation was political... I was hoping for more startup oriented conversation.

I'm wondering if this isn't a real Fake Apple Store... as in, Apple recognizes the need to develop that market and also recognizes the fact that their products are prohibitively expensive for those customer - to avoid diluting the Apple brand, build "Apple Stoers" selling the merchandise at a deep discount.

These new Apple Stoers would be very functional and serve the company on many levels. Quickly test new markets with low risk, introduce the Mac at a lower price point, and eventually could be replaced with Real Apple Stores in strong markets.

As the Chinese economy develops, the price of the merchandise increases (maybe shifting from store to store?) and in a few decades they have a stronghold on the edgy cool market of top-of-the-line-computers in the new world market, but also have one on the lower-end Apple Stoer brand.

Sounds like a good plan, just seems strange that we're all talking about it though...
