I use Material UI for all my AI coded applications. Am I doing something wrong? What difference would Shadcnd even make in a world of Claude Code?

As an Apple fanboy I have to say I’ve never been impressed with CarPlay. I’ve used it in rentals quite a bit but have found it generally infuriating.
Primary reason is the map. On the Tesla you have this beautiful map that you can pan around and pinch zoom in and out of.
On the versions of CarPlay that I’ve used, you can this minimal map that can’t be pinch zoomed. Seems like you have to tap the pan buttons by hand to get it to slide around.
It’s just generally unusable. Like I don’t even know why people like this. Oh and then the nanny aspect of your phone becoming a black screen of just enumerated turns with no way to actually see the map yourself (if the car screen is unwilling to work right, my first instinct was to go to my phone but alas no they brick it).
Before I owned a Tesla I remember thinking what a mistake it was that it didn’t have CarPlay because I assumed it was the best. Well it’s not. Not by a long shot.
This really needs to be done for a GLP-1 auto injecting needle.
Pretty sure it’s the same as an epi-pen as well.
It blows my mind. It’s a disposable, single use device that at the press of button:
1. Inserts the needle in your skin, 2. Slowly presses the plunger until the dose is injected 3. Then retracts the needle with plunger
Three distinct and seemingly opposing motions. With timing. All in a little plastic enclosure. It sure I can think of a toy with that kind of mechanism.
Those giant “push” buttons, which automatically unpushed the other buttons when one is pushed, are called…. Get ready… radio buttons.
Now you know why radio buttons are called that in modern UIs.
I’d be curious to know if this sort of thing could’ve been predicted through computer modeling. And if not, does that mean, we have a gap in our fundamental fluid equations?
And if so, couldn’t we just have a model iterate on different surface patterns and optimize?
Toyota has done the world no justice by tricking most buyers into thinking they’re somehow leveraging the power of electricity when they buy a hybrid car. As if they’re somehow driving a sort of EV.
As the speaker in the video clearly articulates, a hybrid is a gas burning car. Full stop. (Ignoring plugins).
In fact, the technology very easily could’ve just been transparent to the User, and hardly even marketed. I mean, there’s countless dodads in a car that contribute to its overall improvement in fuel economy, and car companies have been adding these features over the last forty years. None of them have declared the car to be of an entirely new class the way this particular marginal improvement did.
Don’t fool yourself, you’re still driving a gas car, it’s still burning fossil fuels l, just marginally less of them.
If all of this effort had been to migrate to EVs I feel like we’d be in a better position.
For long routes over level terrain it has almost no effect at all.
Sure to a commuter in stop and go traffic or city driving it might matter a bit but regen takes away the first order of magnitude.
Even climbing a hill is a bit of the same effect. To first order, you recover it on the back side of the hill coming down.

Just Think it logically there are millions and millions of animal species alone. The number of combinations is astronomical. Did someone really try out each combination? It’s silly. Of course not.
I’ve heard this argument but it sounds factually incorrect to me.
Take for example: Icterus gularis [1] vs Icterus galbula [2]
Are you really going to tell me that:
1. They’d refuse to have sex with each other or could not procreate
And:
2. Someone bothered to check if they’re sufficiently distinct genetically?
I suspect these species were deemed “distinct” by early naturalists like Carl Linnaeus or Charles Darwin neither of whom even knew what a gene was.
And to my eye these birds seem a lot closer than an Aboriginal Australian man is to a Norwegian man.
Seems to me, that we divide other animals based on some of the most minor of phenotypic expressions. The slight coloration of a bird’s crest, shape of some lizard’s nose.
Yet with Homo sapiens we seem to be allergic to the idea that our drastic swings in physical attributes could possibly qualify as a different species (we obviously call them “races”). But they plainly diverged from each other due to geographic and reproductive isolation and adaptation to environments. Which is precisely what causes species to diverge into new ones.
Are we supposed to pretend that Africans DONT have black skin due an adaptation to their environment?
Do other animals get divided into races? I know dogs have “breeds” and we don’t consider those species. But I don’t hear about “races” in other animals.

And we’ve literally born witness to yet another step in the trend of diluting our corpus of pronouns. The trend is very clearly from more articulate to less.
“They” and “their” for my whole lifetime were plurals. Now we’ve pretty much lost the mere clarity of knowing if the pronoun means 1 person or more than 1 person. Was watching “Adolescence” and the police mentioned “they” in regards to the victim of a crime. I was mistakenly under the impression that there weee multiple victims for much of the episode.
I’m very clearly slow to adapt to the new definitions.
Then why do they continue to lobby for higher taxes, etc.
You cannot do that if you simultaneously feel the government is the not the best custodian of those marginal dollars.

Since the beginning of Youtube, it has always struck my as reeking of such desperation to keep you hooked. Just the idea that you're watching a video, and there is simultaneously a list of 10 OTHER videos right next to the view. Most have become so numbed to that, but if you step back you should find it just such a sign of desperation to hook you (is the best way I can put it).
Before a video is even over, they have to plaster the video window with MORE VIDEOS. "Here try this, what about this other thing, here have you considered this?"
My mind is always "I haven't even digested this one video and you're already PUSHING MORE!"
When my kids are over my shoulder on YouTube I'm constantly zooming in w/ Mac zoom to obscure the other videos, the other spam, etc.
Just learn to absorb and soak in one thing. And digest it for a moment.

For days it was explained that, while she had a Nest doorbell camera (which was stolen by the kidnapper) it was sadly useless because Nancy wasn’t paying for cloud storage. Just live video and notifications.
Well what do know happened today? The video of the kidnapper was magically produced by Google. I guess, even when you don’t pay for storage, they’re… you know…. Recording and saving the video anyway.
No one’s really bothered to point this out as they’re all just so excited that the video has turned up.

Things came out slowly. Albums. Games. Software. That slowness gave them weight. You lived with them for a while instead of replacing them next week.
This is very true (and should include films as well). When big movies came out they were a big thing. Waiting in long lines for a ticket to a movie was a normal thing. People talked about them weeks and weeks. They were sort of big cultural events.
Exactly. That’s why I’ve always said the driving is a truly AGI requiring activity. It’s not just about sensors and speed limits and feedback loops. It’s about having a true understanding for everything that’s happening around you:
Having an understanding for the density and make up of an obstacle that blew in front of you, because it was just a cardboard box. Seeing how it tumbles lightly through the wind, and forming a complete model of its mass and structure in your mind instantaneously. Recognizing that that flimsy fragment though large will do no damage and doesn’t justify a swerve.
Getting in the mind of a car in front of you, by seeing subtle hints of where the driver is looking down, and recognizing that they’re not fully paying attention. Seeing them sort of inch over because you can tell they want to change lanes, but they’re not quite there yet.
Or in this case, perhaps hearing the sounds of children playing, recognizing that it’s 3:20 PM, and that school is out, other cars, double parked as you mentioned, all screaming instantly to a human driver to be extremely cautious and kids could be jumping out from anywhere.
It’s laughable to think that anyone in psychology has a “technical” definition of anything really. It is entirely possible that our brain works in a very, very similar way. We really have no idea. Focus focusing on the difference between meat and silicon is fruitless. The analogies between how a human learn, learns, and how an AI learns, are too significant to ignore.
Human humans have some instinctive desire to think themselves elevated. I am convinced that my internal thoughts are just a phenomenon, and the notion of “I choose to think a given thought. “ is preposterous in an of itself. Where exactly is this lofty perch from which I am controlling i?
