These are clearly toilets vs cameras, or out vs in. Resonant media doesn't have to explain itself. But simpler minds need the illusion of backstory, or the idea of good/bad, etc.

The point is that memes replace stodgy narratives, which are dinosaurs (news, history, novels), with semantic options. You can experience this as meaningless, or in well designed memewarefare, you can sense the density and how/where it applies to the culture today and sense that it has something to add when it's archaeology.

We're already verging on decentralized, and we've been horizontalizing since 1995. If you're not aware of these trends leaving behind models, discarding politics, recognizing the narrative seclusions of economic policy, then you have your head in some 20th C think-tank or consultancy immobility syndrome.

It's an extinction project, growth or sustained growth, you're describing mathematical politics, which is arbitrary. All animals reach a homeostasis/allostasis with the environment. Humans don't require synthetic categories ie "goods and services" we require functional relationships to resources that become streamlined into ecological categories in order to survive.

We lose 10 million sq miles of forests a year and have lost 1/3 of forest areas since 1000Ad, so "reforesting" isn't a viable reversal project.

And reforestation is poorly understood as "reforesting" is pursued on land already lost to forest capability.

Downvoting only proves the point: economics is like any primate bias, it enforces status at the cost of the collective or institutional. The US is a sad case for economic "modeling."

China has already won the game. We developed media and wealth management as invididualistic, they approached the problems institutionally and built infrastructure at the pivotal point renewables became affordable. They made an army of technical engineers, we scattered innovation in comp sci/VC acceleration/automation and sat on our asses as asset managers. AI works in secluded modules like robotics and revision. As a general tool it's navel gazing energy sink. AI was a lure we fell for and wasted money and energy while smart players like Apple and China knew their reality.

AI is too dumb to succeed. It's built in symbols and statistics predicting tokens based in contexts. This has nothing to do with intelligence or general things like free navigation. Most of it is a write-off, and the things that succeed will be sequestered in pivots with expert supervision.

There are no truths using words, as words are arbitrary, subjective metaphors. Worse we externalize them in arbitrary symbols. What proves decision-making are actions, only actions.

Until we modularize a specific form of external signaling, be it speech or object, nothing we express is the truth.

He makes cause and effect statements and posits them as definitive. This person does this and that reaction occurs. These are the causal illusions we build history from after the fact. It's a kind of game that becomes addictive. He happens to have a skillset that makes it more addictive then the usual History channel offering. Our problem though, is that history as we design it, is not really there. Sayyd Qutb going to a sock hop no more caused 9/11 than a chance encounter bin Laden had with a courier in 1977. There are thousands of factors, mistakes, etc that lead to 9/11. Designing a casual narrative out of it is an illusion.

That we are entranced like moths to history is not well-understood by the general population. We like well-designed narratives that simplify what are only validly scientifically correlated events. The real question now is how do we evade the addiction and grow up to become self-sufficient using information.

QAnon is simply a hack of narrative, and though it's crude conspiracy nonsense, it demonstrates a future form where info is non-linear, modular. If we had more complex modules and not this messy symbolically built info, there could be perception from external memory. Current external memory is junky, cheap.

The idea is just ancient hierarchy reimposed in a decentralized, horizontalized info grid. About as plausible as Santa Claus becoming ruler.
