Sure, they retarget ads they think you might want to see, but the difference is when using Google you are actively looking for something, not passively.

When you use Google you are generally actively looking for something. When you use Facebook you get ads for things you aren't looking for.

I, like many others, play Wordle daily. When the page loads, there is a button to play todays challenge. Then, there is a very small delay (like 100ms) and suddenly a button to "View all games" appears, right where you would have tapped/clicked on the button to play the puzzle. No, I think "us" is apt, considering this will eventually affect all sites that rely on traffic from Google search, which is basically every text heavy site.

All we can hope for is that people will stop using search (after eventually having enough of the AI wave) for these sort of niche sites and will bookmark and access them directly in future. I don't have much hope.

Why is phpMyAdmin even still needed/wanted in 2026? It's not exactly user friendly for a developer, let alone an average Gov employee...

Cool idea but I am not old enough/have not have enough (any) interest in some of the older products, so I think a "skip" option would be cool.

I can't edit nor be bothered to reply to all of the negative responses so I'll put it here.

Pretty much all of you missed the larger point. PHP was what allowed me to not work in retail forever, buy a forever house, never have to worry about losing my job (this may change in the future with AI) or being at risk for redundancy, having chosen to only work for small, "normal" well run profitable businesses.

Unless you're building a hyper scale product, it does the job perfectly. PHP itself is not a security issue; using it poorly is, and any language can be used poorly. PHP is still perfectly suitable for web dev, especially in 2026.

Also the language that runs half of the web.

Also the language that has made me millions over my career with no degree.

Also the language that allows people to be up and running in seconds (with or without AI).

I could go on.

You'll just see it within AI responses instead.

The legend says SHNs are getting worse, but surely if the % of SHN posts with 1 point is going DOWN (as per graph) then it's getting better? Either I am dense or the legends are the wrong way round no?

This is definitely due to the age/quality/model of the TV. I have 4 LG TVs across the house and the newest/biggest is 100x faster than the oldest.

Either that number was wrong like you say OR (and I am unfamiliar with Bluesky) the URL is loaded via Bluesky's browser (like X) and therefore Bluesky's own server IP was used (instead of the user's).

Jesus Christ, this hit a little too close to home. I had booked a similar price hotel for a period of time during the World Cup next in Vancouver in June; 11 nights in total. I had only reserved it (via Booking.com) until today when I paid the balance. I have been worried about this happening to me ever since I booked it. The price I got was VERY good (considering the event).
