Yes, this addon looks like repackaging and selling someone others open source work. I'm really not sorry for that author.

There is nothing from evolutionary point of view more important than having children. It would be highly unusual if nature didn't make that experience overall speaking as one of best things in life.

But just to play devils advocate: It is highly likely that China have spies in Google and Facebook and probably USA have spies in Tik Tok and other big Chinese companies so both China and USA no matter what sw you use already know everything about you. My best argument would be: We can't allow that authoritarian country become tech superior because that will make China economically stronger than USA and than politically which will result in destruction of democracies around world.

''But it's a lot less violent than ordering the military to shoot people.'' You know, he is president, that gives him right to use or threaten with violence if he thinks that safety of country is seriously in danger. If you think that he is breaking constitution there is court to decide about that.

I think we are dealing with black swan event. It's new disease, higly contagious and with 200 more deathly rate than flu. Since we don't know much about that disease and how much that virus can mutate being extra cautious is best strategy.

I'm glad that Tolstoy found it's place on hacker news. His Christian anarhisam and nonviolence doctrine influence basically all civil right heroes in 20 century. But it is funny how Georgisam is selected. Just wonder could it be related with high property price in bay area.

Firefox Preview is great but I don't understand why it doesn't have night mode and neither one of Firefoxes. Today night mode is standard for almost all of the applications and that's the only reason why I simply can not switch to Firefox completely. Btw, don't say that addons are good for since they only switch text in dark not UI. Even Chrome now allows UI to change to dark not just text.

”There is a common misperception in public and government domains that compelling clinical evidence exists for the broad and strong efficacy of mindfulness as a therapeutic intervention,” a group of 15 scholars wrote in a recent article entitled Mind the Hype. The reality is that mindfulness-based therapies have shown “a mixture of only moderate, low or no efficacy, depending on the disorder being treated,” the scholars wrote, citing a 2014 meta-analysis commissioned by the US Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality. First of all I have to say that i despise calling something scientific work that is clearly way more subjective than mesaurable like science. For example question: does this engine spend less fuel than one before is clear way to show was that invention good or not, do you have better wellbeing after some treatment is completely open for placebo effect and can't be in same category. IMO meditation 'science' if it ever wants to be true science should concentrate on mesaurable mental qualities like IQ and memory. So true science question should be: how large is your IQ score before and after meditation retreat or how much you can remember things in 2 min before and after. Everything other is not science and is higly debatable. Honestly I'm quite suprised that engineers spend so much time on so unproved technique to increase quality of their work and life.

I'm not advocating religion especially extremist version although there are way more cases in which religion helped people that's why it survived so long, I said once it was good solution and than I explained what is solution for today's world.
