At this point does it matter that there’s apparently no reasoning and it’s not the path to AGI? To me it seems like even as it is, it’ll be a huge disruption to everything, and that it’s not a bubble in the normal sense. Over evaluated, maybe, but there’s still a lot of value.

Why are they not publishing which defects exist? Not only it make more credible, it would also warn people of what to look for.

Funny story: I actually forgot my backpack in the train at Zurich HB and it went to Basel and back again to Zurich HB, where I was able to get from the train. All the while I was nervously looking at Find My, seeing it travel and just hoping it wouldn’t be stolen.

I bought one, then returned it the following day. I cannot comprehend how LG is shipping these monitors and people are buying them. The matte finish on the screen is very bad. So bad that you see colorful grains (maybe 0.05-0.1mm each) all over the screen. Particularly noticeable on light content. I had seen some people complaining about it online, but never would’ve imagine that this was the actual issue and it’s still mind boggling that they are producing and shipping these monitors.

Would love to know what kind of noise and sound level was used for this test. Was it a continuous monotonous noise (such as white/pink/brown noise) at a fixed volume? Or was it some random noise that would "pop-up" randomly?

I would imagine that a noise that would randomly "pop-up" would be worse. But would be curious if that's not the case.

This is really weird. It's something I feel as an adult when I consume too many sugary things. Could it be related to something else in those sugary things (candy, sodas, ..) instead of sugar? That'd be interesting to find out.

Ask any parent how much time they had free (and didn't realize) before having kids. It's quite interesting how much time we have free and not really realize.

Another way to teach them about hot things is to have something that is uncomfortably hot but won't burn if you touch it for a few seconds*, warn them that it's hot and remove the fingers quickly but let them touch it anyway. They won't burn themselves but will understand what is hot and will understand when you tell them that it's hot.

The side effect of this, is that then they might be scared of things that are only slightly hot. But that's something easier and less risky to deal with IMO and they'll eventually understand that there's different levels.

*babies/toddlers have a skin that is a lot more sensitive, so this should be taken into consideration.

This one hits close to home. I had a very close family member die because of a Parkinson-like decease not long ago. He had the misfortune of inhaling quite a bit of herbicide after dropping a bag in an enclosed space and ~10 years later he got the decease. Since there was no history of Parkinson or Parkinson-like deceases in the family history, the doctors conclusion was that it must have been a toxic induced decease (not sure how to pronoun this exactly) and the large amount of herbicide inhale in that day was probably the cause.

Not an extreme. Pink noise works really well and brown noise to some extent. White noise is a bit harsh for our human ears.

The pink noise besides simulating the shushing also serves as sort of a noise blanket to make other sounds being made around the baby pop up less, sort of sound mantle.

This _really_ feels like a marketing piece disguised as something else.
