You still need a base power plant and few others for controlling the amount of energy in the system. Using only renewable is kind o hard. If we can figure out a way to store energy the way we can access it very quickly with arbitrary output, we could move on to renewables exclusively.

Lat time I checked Google was not an ISP for consumers. They do this to generate more competition against the ISPs forming a trust against competition.

Thanks to Goole Comcast started to do higher speed internet, it was shocking to me how customers were not interested in it but right after the Google offering the very same customers went totally mad and they suddenly needed faster internet. Who understands these very complicated matters anyways?!?!
You are right. In US there is no good healthcare and this is the most expensive system that provides the least value for an _average_ individual.

Good, keep it this way. We don't need more economic growth because the 90% of it goes straight to billionaires and the average worker don't benefit from it anyways. What we really need is an economy that does not rely on growth and mass production of toxic waste.
This is one very good argument against the EU in its entirety. We don't need crooked politicians from a random country making decisions for the rest of the EU. It seems like things are going terribly wrong since this project started. The only gain we got is a higher dose of cocaine in the urine of the EU parliament members.

Exactly. It does not make any freakin sense, yet people are banging on implementation details like which cypher is better like you could not circumvent the entire process with a cert signed by a compromised CA.
Clojure would be a great language for teaching, keeping LISP and SICP but giving a tool that compiles something running on the JVM. Teaching Python definitely has the advantage of being more ready for the market, even though Ruby is nicer and friendlier and probably better OOP, also having better lambda functions support.
SICP is such a great book, it is a must have for programmers...
Well Erlang is probably the only language that kept multi-core systems in mind and the implementation is pretty nice. It is kind of funny how we crash the entire application process when a thread crashes in it. Also worth to mention the GPGPUs with 1000+ cores on them. We should support those cards and systems better in the mother languages.
Same here, without even looking into what is slow, Clojure with Compojure does 7500 req/s. If Rust would like to be the next close to bare metal language we need some serious performance improvements.
Yes there is a continuum and there are great Tor like projects in that sense. Where you end up on that continuum mostly depends on the reviewing process.
Well you can do audits for backdoors and malware without having the source code. It is a common misconception in open source communities that you cannot do these without the source. If you check the pro security guys, they do not care about source code too much, it makes exploitation a bit easier but that is it. On the top of that, having the source code does not guarantee that you will find the security bugs either. See OpenBSD weakened crypto.

I never asked any OpenSSL guys to work for free for me. Btw. I am contributing to FOSS projects before you are accusing me that I never done anything to the community. I totally understand the responsibilities of open source developers. Having software that supposed to provide security is a huge responsibility and in those projects following best practices (not re-implementing malloc badly, etc.) is insanely important. Just because it is free it does not mean that you can throw out everything we know about software engineering, and it does not justify broken software. There is a tendency in the software community that if it is free it can be crap and nobody can complain about it. This is bad attitude. If you can't write great software just please don't do it and try to hide behind the open source flag.
