I have couple of friends who use Facebook Portal for their non-tech savvy grandparents. Seems like the lack of features (compared to other tablets) make it easier for them to use it. Another thing, it integrates with WhatsApp (a big plus for many!)
"Additionally, if you’ve ever installed the Zoom client and then uninstalled it, you still have a localhost web server on your machine that will happily re-install the Zoom client for you, without requiring any user interaction on your behalf besides visiting a webpage. This re-install ‘feature’ continues to work to this day."
So... what's the best way to really really uninstall Zoom client from our Mac?
If you have tons of space, how about running a blockchain node? Something like FileCoin node is interesting because you can theoretically made some tokens when you’re doing it.
Young children behavior is interesting, I remember a friend whose 3 year old boy can’t read but fully capable of using his parents phone to watch Youtube. The boy constantly use Voice Recognition instead of keyboard input in such a fluid manner. After the search shows up, the boy simply pick the cartoon he liked.
Tap and swipe is first nature to him. What fascinates me is, this boy cant figure out how to turn on the tv because he keeps tapping amd swiping the remote control. I once saw him trying to swipe on the light switch as well.
Yeap, for me its all the nice iphone & macbook integration. Seamless copy paste, phone call notification, text message showing up...
Of course you can do all of these on Android, but I tried using Android + Surface Pro last year and the amount of things you need to install & tweak are just silly.
Very cool! Might want to add a section / link on what kind of images we should use to give the maximum wow factor
I am Indonesian. Its been 4 months since they announced the phone on December, and they are still not available anywhere. I am not sure whats the hold up but there is no other update
And this is just web. Don’t forget that we also have Apps. Some of the newer startups / media company don’t / choose not to have a web interface. We have archive for web, but not for apps. I looked at the screenshot of the first Uber & Amazon app, and it was amazing how different they look compared to today (2019)
My bad, what I really meant is: What are the suitable replacement for Recaptcha?
How about Recaptcha?
I thought I am the only one
And here we are discussing this on HACKER NEWS :))))
Contact immigration lawyer, maybe?
ha! I didn’t catch that until you pointed that out. I wonder why is it dated July 27, 2018... maybe the report is still a work in progress?
I had this problem last year, and the only thing I managed to do was forcing my peers to all install TeamViewer :)))
Very specific service that potentially can generates you enough side-income :) I love this kind of project!
If anything, maybe create a freemium model... make it free for anything less than 3 mins?
Question here, how do you put a name on the hex? Do you have a database that map each hex code to "limelight", "grey asparagus", etc ?

Agreed, this is nicer way to see what's happening when something happen.. and if you only have one server haha.
For historical "monitoring", alerts, I still need my NewRelic / ELK kind of tools.
so from "Introducing-netdata" on their Wiki, there's this excerpt..
With netdata, there is no need to centralize anything for performance monitoring. You view everything directly from their source. Still, with netdata you can build dashboards with charts from any number of servers. And these charts will be connected to each other much like the ones that come from the same server.
So seems like this is on purpose. And if I understand this correctly, I can just build custom HTML dashboard to connect to multiple machines?
I just skim through it, pretty good reading to understand where we are now. Main key-points:
- fiber has been rolling out for library, public housing, schools and public Wi-FI. But not on community / businesses.
- SF has the infrastructure, it just needs to build "the last mile" to connect with the houses / buildings
- there has been effort for community-fiber since 2011, but as of 2014, the city is still not in favor of this kind of development.
Do we have something like this in SF Bay Area?
I wonder if this reverse-rating system is only for US. Even though I'm from US, I had only get the chance to use it abroad (Jakarta). And when I check it, my rating is null. Is it something to do with the fact that Uber driver in Jakarta are actually professional car-rental driver?
Nevermind, its because I was using the webcam on a different window (Google Hangout).
"Could not connect stream" ?
