The J&J vaccine (which I received) was ultimately pulled due in part to blood clots which resulted in one documented death [1]. The AstraZeneca vaccine suffered the same fate.
It has been affirmed that the risks of the vaccine are less than the risks of the virus. Still, we shouldn’t shout “the vaccines are safe” so loudly that we can’t document and discuss real side effects and relative risks between competing solutions.
We’ve ultimately reached the correct outcome here, removing an inferior product from the market.

The exact growing conditions for olive production aren’t common in the US, so most of the production comes from California - west of Sacramento and south along the San Joaquin river. Apple resolved the issue after 48 hours of performance disruptions. Though I further noted one five minute disruption on 4/3 at 6pm ET. They still haven’t responded to our initial ticket.
We’ve worked around this by implementing Pirate Weather as an emergency fallback (it was an easy option since they are fully compatible with DarkSky’s API). But Pirate’s baseline performance is worse, and they don’t have a plan that supports more than 250k requests/month.
We may have to eventually switch to a different provider.
The historical limitation should be emphasized - requests for dates before August 1 2021 will return a success status, but always with the data for 8/1.

You know officials are doing something right when they can secure broad support like that.

You have to consider that novel licenses make it difficult for any party that respects licenses to use your code. It is difficult to make one-off exceptions, especially when the text is not legally sound. So adoption of your project will be harmed.
So if you are serious about this license, you need a lawyer.

All python projects using Flask<2 that failed to pin their transitive dependencies (which is unfortunately somewhat common) are failing builds due to a breaking change, as of today.
When old equipment pops up on small farms, it's usually someone operating on a small scale (~300ac or so), making a profit off land they own by keeping their costs down. Definitely not a great way to earn an income, and it probably doesn't cover their bills, but people do it.
Otherwise, the old equipment is typically used for odd jobs around the farm, like the use case of hauling produce you mentioned.
I'd agree that you see it less often with combines; they're a much more complicated machine.
Many readers here came from a farming family, but pursued careers in technology. They might still be actively involved in farming, and some ultimately return to either take over the farm or manage the land.

I do have to contest the first part of your statement - it's wishful thinking to see him having won this race. You're correct that he enjoys a broad base of bipartisan support, but the combination of turning on Trump, leaving the Republican party, and having a well-recognized opponent imperiled his chances in that district. He would have had to snag approximately 25% of the Democratic vote and 45% of the Republican vote to achieve that feat.
It should be clear that this is a purely symbolic gesture. The bill will die in two weeks at the end of the 116th Congress.

Land ownership is a tangential subject, but this does portray some accurate details about modern agriculture in the US.
Many children leave the family farm; they can earn more with less work, and operating a profitable farm operation is very difficult. Families don't like selling their farmland, so they rent it out to another farmer. There are funds that buy farmland to profit from rental or future resale, but again they are not the operators.
Perhaps it'd be helpful if you provided a few examples of these corporations? Not incorporated family farms, but these for-hire corporations operating at large acreage scales.
Speaking as someone who provides services to the industry, your statement just isn't correct; as I originally stated it's a popular myth that is very different from reality. There are large corporations involved, but they come in at the points where inputs are supplied to the farmer and production is purchased.
Production is still operated by family run farms. It's so capital inefficient that no corporation would dare bother.
The inequality discussed by the article is a reduction to a popular political line. These popularized, almost mythical, portrayals of agriculture are uselessly far from reality. If you want to summarize a tremendously complex industry, it's more useful to compare in terms of the crop being produced and the region's level of economic development.
For example, in the US, mechanized row crop farming over large numbers of acres is the norm (growing corn, beans, wheat, etc). These farms are all small head count family-run operations, sized between a few hundred to a few thousand acres, with a total somewhere in the low hundred-thousands of them.
The worldwide number of farms then runs up into the hundreds of millions due to small landholders - subsistence agriculture, locally sold produce, etc.
A farmer growing corn in a remote Central American village is completely different from the farmer growing corn in the United States. A produce farmer at your local farmer's market is completely different from a wheat farmer on the Black Sea. There's a living to be made at many points on the spectrum, and humanity needs each of them.
Real problems certainly do exist. They have more to do with things like the market pressures of producing commodity products, baseline calorie and nutritional demands, distribution, and structural supply and demand inefficiencies.

The crux is whether mail delivery of the ballot can be executed securely and verifiably, and whether failures can be corrected in a timely manner.
A few examples of where this can go wrong:
* Introducing third party ballot collectors risks bad actors manipulating the ballot pipeline, for example what we saw in 2018 in North Carolina's 9th district.
* The US mail is mostly reliable, but lost mail (in my experience) is still fairly common. While this would be a random occurrence, every election cycle involves several tight races, and a lost ballot can flip the results.
* In the event errors in ballot transmission occur, you need to correct them in a timely manner. This requires someone to put in the effort to proactively watch out for missing ballots. Individuals are lazy, and it might not be in the interests of partisan officials to try.
The severity of these and other issues largely depends on the volume of mail voting; the more mail voting the more incentive to try to subvert it. As with any security issue, the defenses against them need to be strong enough to make the attacks too expensive to execute. Just because we don't see fraud yet doesn't mean mail voting won't be targeted in the future.

Even if it’s a mundane problem, if your product solves a valuable need for an underserved market you shouldn’t have problems making a market rate hire. There are plenty of people who would be happy to work on a good opportunity while enjoying the freedoms of a small company. Substance is more attractive than marketable hype any day.
