This account has been constantly submitting anti ruling party articles to demean India. Nothing in the article or proof otherwise which indicates that this was done by the rulling party. A lot of other articles submitted by this "throwaway" account are also questionable.

Amazon should complement this service with data contact centers which are connected to their data centers network. Then people could go to these centers in person and hand over their hard drives full of data for back up. It will be like bank lockers but only digital. At this low price people would want to upload terabytes of data which will be pain to upload/download.
Designed by Microsoft and made by Nokia? This could be the very reason Nokia opted for Windows phone than choosing Android.
After reading the "Tale" it appears that Inktomi killed itself. It is a good example of what happens if top dog companies fail to innovate in face of sudden superior competition. RIM is another example, but would be wrong to say that Apple is killing them. Apple is just making and selling superior products.

Really appreciate what you are doing and you did good. I don't know if other people noticed but I would have preferred you to not smile much( or at all) while listening to her or answering her questions.This could be just my personal preference.Smiling while talking about such a serious issue kind of undermines the seriousness of it a bit.

This device is not meant for someone like you to even evaluate. It is not meant to be used by people who hang out on hacker news or for people who grew up in Delhi and who travel in a/c Delhi metro. It is for poor kids in UP/Bihar who will never have any access to such technology otherwise. You have to see the bigger picture here.
I doubt if your experience as an entrepreneur would be counted when you go back in the job market and here in India I won't be surprised if you have to start again at fresher level (this is sad but true sometimes). You can get a stable job perhaps with less salary for your experience if it’s about paying the bills. You can consider freelancing for some local companies which is a less promising option. If you get a job meeting new people at a new workplace can help you come out of this state of mind. Take a break from technology for a month. Travel without Internet that should give you some perspective on things. I don't think there is any recipe someone can tell you here, you have to try things on your own and see what works for you. Key is to move on then keep on analyzing your past mistakes or experiences. I believe whenever you work hard you create energy of some form and once this energy is created it always give good results may be not immediately but perhaps later. Where are you based in India? Add some contact info.

Since you didn't specify the reason of your switch, I am going to guess ;) I think you switched because your university doesn't support Linux :) On a serious note, at my workplace few people are still using XP when they are free and encouraged to upgrade to Win7, then I guess some people out there are just not willing to change.

There are lot of user with slow machines in developing nations. They are typically using a pirated copy of windows xp on a slow hardware and since initially microsoft didn't allow upgrade to IE 7 on pirated copies, lot of people moved to firefox. They would certainly enjoy the fast startup time.And considering that lot of such people are there( it was in the news that Ballmer told Hu that 90 percent of China is using pirated windows) it is still a big win for firefox usuability overall.
While searching for a pdf file, I hardly find the pdf through the top results. The top results are often kind off pdf, ebook search engines themselves and they clearly appear on top by gaming Google. I hope this gets fixed too.
Of course, good review from Techcrunch doesn’t necessarily mean that product will succeed.Success of a startup depends a lot on execution.
Good reviews from media at most mean that the idea has potential and bad reviews don't mean that it has none.
I feel problem in India(not sure about other regions) is that more people get into Software/IT for money than for the love of technology. We will be better off leaving technology to people who get it or love doing it. Convincing/asking people to learn to program will hardly produce stellar startups.
Then, I think there is no harm for non tech people who see technology more as an enabler than end goal seeking technical expertise outside.

I read somewhere that they would rather have the page load as fast as possible on all kinds of browsers rather then have a standards compliant slow loading page.
They are not and a comparable Android phones costs around 27 k( 520$). But here we are talking of pervasiveness of the platforms rather then capabilities of the phones.
I don't think that Apple is a superpower when it comes to promoting or killing technologies, be it on desktop or mobile. It is surely important in the whole scheme of things but certainly not the king maker. With the rise Android and Windows mobile 7 , apple and its iOS will matter even less. Here in India one can get an Android phone(1.6) for 7000rs( 120 $) which is a very competitive price, where iphone 3gs costs around 32000rs ( 650 $). I don't see apple getting a decisive share of mobile market anywhere outside of US in the foreseeable future.
