I deeply wish Google would focus on models like Gemma. Small, powerful, open-weight models you can run on phones or regular computer hardware.

I'm far from being anti-AI, but these guys take it way too far IMO. It's straight-up AI slop. Like a real engineer still needs to be in the loop and drive the tool.

I've been convinced for a while this is the future. A super fast, good enough model, that runs locally and is private.

The only thing that has worked for me to keep my sleep regular is to go outside first thing in the morning and sit for 15-20 minutes. Rain or shine. Even if it's cold or cloudy.

This has been game changing and keeps me on a regular sleep routine.

UGH why are they killing this model? This is one of the best models you can use in an API for a large swath of tasks. It's kind of the perfect trifecta of fast, cheap, and smart enough.

I personally do not like Meta, but I'll say this. The more competition, the better for regular consumers. (Enterprise too)

I think this is a win. I'm building like crazy to take advantage of all these subsidized tokens while I can.

My only complaint is that people have been tricked into thinking complaining online is taking action. The complaints are the equivalent to shouting at the TV.

I pretty much kept a document of ideas. I would just randomly think of something and jot it down. The ideas I kept were exciting enough to keep coming back to and writing more down became what I built.

I did, and I've made money from channel surfer, but it's far from paying the bills, kind of money.

I wasn't _trying_ to make money. I just wanted to build a bunch of cool shit, rekindle my love for building websites, make the web more fun, and maybe figure out what I wanted to do next.

Now I'm trying to focus on making money. I'm kind of out of money, so I'll likely need to do some freelance work for a while.

Soon I'm going to release something to help others do the same thing. Ship high-quality stuff quicker.

Fresno gets crazy hot in the summer, often well into the 100s or up to 40+ c.

When you go down there, it's pretty shocking how cool it is, even in the middle of summer. Even with tons of natural light pouring in.

Same here! I used it all the time back in the 2000s. I have fond memories of sliding a CD into an old desktop and using Linux.

You realize they have a new network of satellites, right? It works much better than the old version with the 90s tech.

I still use Gboard. It's pretty old now and hasn't been updated in a long time, but it still works.
