Yes, that's how I usually explain programming to someone unexperienced with it. A computer programming language is usually more strictly defined, but depending on compiler and architecture results can differ in computer progamming as well.

The point is that you probably make their life easier by rolling your own crypto.
Well, most modern cryptography is based on assumptions that can not be proven, so having different standards based on different assumptions is probably the only way to safeguard against if one of the assumptions would be proven false in the future.
You do have the right to sell your domain for any price, but I guess it could be seen as owning a rental contract..
Assuming you have the Decryption oracle is the same as assuming you have the key in your example, so you are just saying a OTP is vulnerable if you have the key. This is true for any encryption scheme that I can think of.
If you look at the work related death rate among workers in the US the number is 0.035 per 1000 people. So if the deaths are work related, it is a huge number compared to the US at least.
I only get a blank page as well when changing to javascript.enabled = false
I assume the well-off authors of these awards live in pseudo-gated communities
Bold assumption, what is it based on?
I think it would be pretty easy to enforce a quota among the Nobel Prize cadidates, your example really does not apply to that. The question is more about whether it is a good or a bad thing.
One of Sweden's biggest grocery stores / supermarkets, Coop [1], is keeping all their 800 physical stores closed today, since their payment system is not working because of an IT-attack somewhere in their supply chain [2]. Connected to this attack?

Would be interesting to see covid deaths per country in relationship to how many carry risk factors (age, obecity, etc.) in each country.
Isn't this just circular since we would classify all people doing bad things as people with dark personality traits?
He is listed as a cofounder on their website.
Isn't it pretty clear that energy efficiency usually does not lead to lower energy use? Couldn't see any mentions of rebound effects on the website.
Also interested in the energy efficiency of the mining. Anyone who has a good explaination for how tokens work compared to cryptocurrencies?
Lastly I think it feels pretty scetchy to name the token after Woz to give it credibility. However he does seem involved judging by the clip on their website.
I think I drew Satan
I'm not certain about if mozilla needs a CEO that picks the job because it is well paid. Maybe a decent pay and a meaningful mission is a better way to get a well fitting CEO, when the company's goal is not to maximize profit.
I disagree, it depends on the lifestyle of the person. The richest 10% are responsible for 52% of carbon emissions[1]. If the only way to have a good life is to live like the richest 10% (or 50%) one could say we are too many people, but that does not have to be true, especially not in the future.

What is the revenue model of unsplash? Could not find a good source after a quick google search.
Amazing. Worked well on mobile, except the text went out of the screen a few time.
Reminds me of the director of the royal coin cabinet in Stockholm, Sweden. He sold coins and medals from the museum for a value of 20 million sek (~$2m) through a coin collector/trader from 1997 until a few years ago. He could only be sentenced for selling 10% of those coin because of lack of evidence.

Killing a whole species without damaging the ecosystem? How could we kill all mosquitos without killing all other insects?
50:- or 50 kr is how 50 kronor is written in sweden (and probably all of scandinavia).
How many other factors than beheading can affect a persons risk of dying from being beheaded?
Could be relevant for learning purposes.
Is that the same as BankID in sweden? That is not 'connected' to the sim card, but to the device itself.
Or perhaps they use the benefit to attract better competence? Higher pay vs a more secure work life balance is of course the decision to make here, and seems like op of this thread made a decision. What are you trying to proove?
Sorry, meant co2 emissions, not energy use.
