I say that as a straight white boy, BTW. :-)
My 13-year-old just got her own phone. Wired up with https://www.pinwheel.com/
She is NOT going to be touching social media or similar until at LEAST high school.
Yes.
Next question.
Yep!
There's some consolidation here. Podcast support in YouTube music is a real thing.
There is SO much overlap between YouTube Music videos and listening to music. There is also overlap between YouTube podcasts and listening to podcasts.
Trying to align here makes a lot of sense. Tricky to pull off, sure, but it's not a dropped ball.
I heard the explanation that one was from physics and one was from chemistry.
And they were both important to get the error bars low enough so they could move over with confidence.
It's possible the folks who made this demo – which was created years ago – didn't do an a11y pass. Something things need to be wired up for specific scenarios.
Before 3D printing, likely. Now: not sure. Folks are printing seamless chainmail. Pretty crazy.
This is peek internet. Amazing!
Great question!
While we'd love to be the best solution for every problem, it turns out the HTML-based web has been highly optimized for decades for text-heavy, linear, reading experiences.
So we're staying focused on the places where Flutter does the best job: interactive, non-linear, more-create-than-consume.
So our sites use HTML & CSS: flutter.dev, dart.dev, pub.dev
And our devtools are built in Flutter Web: https://docs.flutter.dev/development/tools/devtools/overview Along with web experiences from rows.com, reflection.app, rive.app, supernova.io, and many more.
FYI: I'm the product manager working on Flutter and Dart web tech at Google

Agreed! Interesting idea, but charging for this is not going to get them very far.
Gotta find a way to do an "open core" or similar.
FYI: Guetzli seems to have not been touched in ~5 years.
Ranked Choice (IRV) is better than Plurality, but there are better options.

Super cool, yo! Very unix – do one simple thing well.

Google and Apple can simply make software disappear. Software that gives access to child pornography. Software to buy and sell black-market drugs. Software that lets people organize terrorism and sedition.
There's a point where free speech crosses the "clear and present danger" threshold.
I consider this a feature, not a bug.

Huh?
Amen. Should NOT be flagged. Be professional. Be respectful. Be thoughtful. Be flexible. Be kind. It is NOT asking too much. This is a pretty low bar – especially for "smart" people.
Came here to post this. Glad someone else thought of this first!
