Grok has the most balanced answers according to many tests. I think you should try and ask gemini and claude some political questions.

The wealth tax is mostly and envy tax, it does not increase total tax revenue and leads to people do overinvest in property (house and cabin) to reduce the taxable wealth. For people starting a business you have to move if you get VC money as you have to pay tax on unrealized gains.

The Ministry of Finance has calculated that expatriates took NOK 142 billion in deferred income out of the country in 2022 and 2023. Given the current tax rate of 38 percent, this means that we will lose more than NOK 50 billion in tax if we are unable to get them back home before 2027. On the other hand, we lose around NOK 0.77 billion in tax each year because expatriates are exempt from the high and uniquely Norwegian wealth tax. https://www.nhh.no/nhh-bulletin/artikkelarkiv/2025/april/lyt...

The wealth tax increase has lead to less total tax income due to the income tax not being paid to Norway any longer.

As usual the upper middle class pays most of the wealth tax, 12% of the population paid wealth tax. If you have wealth beyond 170.000$ (1.76 million NOK) you pay 1% of the amount above. Private home and second house (cabin) has reduced value. Average salary in Norway is around 700.000 NOK.

I remember being on a session with the pragmatic programmers (ie the people from the book) and they recommended making a compile error on purpose as the last thing one did before leaving work. The next day you compiled the code and get an error, fix this and they continue working. You are already doing work. This sets your mind on the right track from they day before. I gave used this a bit and it works pretty well.

Would it be possible to use a device like Google Nest Hub 2. for the similar purpose? It is quite a bit cheaper, I have an old mother which still is clear in the head but often have problems with her mobile phone. Would also be easier for us to share pictures of her grandchildren and such.

The hormone therapy eventually stops working, some of the prostate cancer cells will be able to continue to grow even with low levels of testosterone.

Google Gemnini says: Not a cure: Hormone therapy is not a cure for prostate cancer, but it can significantly slow its growth and shrink tumors.

Often used in combination: Hormone therapy is frequently combined with other treatments like radiation therapy or chemotherapy.

Side effects: Hormone therapy can have side effects like hot flashes, fatigue, decreased libido, and bone density loss.

Your doctor will discuss these with you as you choose the best treatment plan.

It is not a very good argument that their subscription service has not increased in price in 17 years. Many online services have kept their price but the number of users have increased a lot. The important thing about ShadowStats is that they show different methods of calculation price inflation.

Calculating inflation from prices is not easy since people tend to consume more chicken or pork of beef is getting more expensive. If you still only consume beef the price index do not show your personal reality, and this reality is different for all people. In aggregate everything that is produced get consumed over time, so the total prices paid is always connected to the total amount of money available.

This was very simply explained.

IMF: Inflation is the rate of increase in prices over a given period of time. Inflation is typically a broad measure, such as the overall increase in prices or the increase in the cost of living in a country.

Milton Friedman (famous Economists) “Inflation is always and everywhere a monetary phenomenon, in the sense that it is and can be produced only by a more rapid increase in the quantity of money than in output.”

My take is that if more money is produced they will chase the same amount of good until the prices increase enough to accommodate the new money.

Carl Barks described inflation in the best way in his 1950 Donald Duck classic: "A Financial Fable"

Totally agree with Alphabet being the tech prediction of 2024. They have the user base and only need to come with up with an equal product of Chat-GTP to be successful. Their valuation is also pretty low compared to Microsoft with P/S of 6 compared to 13.

Regarding Trump I do not know the legal details of the crimes but I find it very unlikely the courts should decide the 2024 election, the easiest solution would be of course to delay the decision to after the election. This is not an opinion about Trump of being guilty or not.

As you get older it take longer to recover. I noticed this the first time around 35 and now at 51 it take even longer to recover. I also notice that real food feels a lot better compared to when I was younger, especially benefitable for me have been to eat more meat which make it possible for me to not to eat directly after training. In general I read that the digestion gets worse the older you are and you need to provide more high quality food ie no pop tarts.

Divorce is about people not wanting to live and share their life together, it is a union where both parties should benefit (why else go into such an agreement). In many cases after a divorce the man does not get to see his children due to the women getting more money the less the man take care of the children. This is really bad for the children, research show that children do a lot worse the less they have contact with both parents. In the modern western society (Europe/USA) the men get the worst deal and this show in almost every respect (93% men in prisons, double the amount of drug users, single custody (80/20). Women also live longer, die less often of work relegated injuries. In general women gets taken care of by society to a greater extent than men.

In mye MBA studies the teacher for accounting had done research on return of equity (ROE) and it showed over time 10+ year for all Norwegian companies it stuck around 9.3% If something become very profitable then many companies should start to target that marked and the profit should be less over time. It is reasonable to think the same thing should happen now.

Agree on this, there is a wide divergence among those who are a bit sceptical of vaccines. Most people have a high trust in vaccines as they should, but recent developments have made more people sceptical.

The last round of vaccination before covid was for the swine flu where one of the vaccines showed a lot more adverse effects than the others (7x) https://www.contagionlive.com/view/high-rates-of-adverse-eve... Also a lot of people became sceptical when they tried to get the children vaccinated for covid even though there were almost no adverse effects on children from the natural infection. It is possible to be sceptical of one vaccine and not all vaccines.

I am 50, (been programming since I was 12) and I know the feeling, I used to get like a brain fog but have found some solutions that helped me to get rid of that feeling most days. What worked for me:

D-Vitamin supplements, ZMA (Zinc, Magnesium), Enough sleep, No coffeein after 3-4, lifting weights and endurance training (crossfit), eat whole food which you prepare yourself with focus on proteins and fats from animals.

The number of housing units in the United States has been growing year on year and in 2021, there were approximately 142 million housing units in the United States. 1.43 million is the average annual new house starts since 1959. Houses sold is around 6 million so only 25% of the sales are new houses. Lack of building is probalby no the main reason. If the interest rates was 8-10%+ a few million houses would come for sale. With low interrest rates many people would rather have more houses than they need to protect against inflation.

Very interesting to hear some feedback on how Prisma is compared to like EF. Perhaps better to use EF + graphql layer?
