It'd be one thing if it was just the problem of a generic AI slop graphic design that all looks the same, the problem is when it generates pictures of food that literally looks disgusting. I've seen some of these posted online where the food literally looks like it's infected (fries with weird black splotches), or the jalapeños look like tires, and it all triggers trypophobia.

FWIW, I got 10 Gbit at home 2 years ago and built my router for $100 using a ThinkCentre M720q Tiny running on a Core i3-8100T (a mini-PC from 2019).
It draws around 15W idle, going up to 30W at full bore. For comparison, the 10G rental router from the ISP drew 15W no matter what (idle or full bore routing). This is with a 10GBase-T SFP+ which probably influences the power draw vs using a DAC.
It has no issues maxing out at 9.4 Gbit routing with a single or multiple streams of iperf3 with your basic IPv4 NAT+some port forwards config.
I would imagine it to match that the biometrics on file with the biometrics presented at the border to catch forgeries?
Any remotely recent generic office PC should be able to handle line rate 10 Gbit routing as long as it has the PCIe lanes for it.
I route my home 10G internet on a ThinkCentre Tiny with a 2018 Core i3-8100T.
My first gen AirPods became e-waste in 18 months due to the battery no longer lasting through a meeting. My AirPods Pro 2 have lasted a lot longer but I'm sure then they do die it will be due to the batteries.

It's now been renamed "Microsoft 365 Copilot". Not joking.
CD-Rs use an organic dye which fades (or in the worst case the bonds holding it on can delaminate).
They hold up much better if stored in a dark place. A spindle on a shelf that sees sunlight is the worst case and they can become unreadable in years.

Wasn't the Amiga essentially limited to interlaced video? That basically relegated it to a machine for games or realtime NTSC/PAL video effects.
Also I was never a big Amiga guy so I'm not sure, did they have an equivalent to QuickTime and Cinepak in 1992 to play video clips? Microsoft hadn't released Video for Windows yet.

The alternative is barrel connectors. If you plug in the wrong one, there's a decent chance that it a) won't work, or b) never work again.
I remember my parents had a D-Link ADSL modem and a D-Link router. They even stacked onto of each other with rubber feet! They had identical-looking power bricks, with the same barrel plug.

Is it really though? People are selling cables, but 40Gbase-T hardware does not exist, and 10Gbase-T hardware is already crazy power hungry and the SFP+s heat up much you burn yourself if you touch them. Meanwhile USB-C 10 Gbps works on an iPhone.
Meanwhile, Coax is huge and stiff. Good high-speed USB-C cables actually have mini coax inside.

I can't think of any connector that would work well shoved in a pocket moving around. Had to re-solder too many headphone jacks back in the day, and anything that screws in would cause way too much leverage, probably ruining the small slim device.

Maybe it's different in other parts of the country or maybe the fact that EVs are so expensive their owners have different price sensitivity but one of the main reasons I would want an EV here in Japan is the miserable gas station experience.
In my city, half the gas stations have rip-off prices, 10-20 yen/liter higher than the cheapest stations. Often they just show a blinking "888" as a price so you can't even tell before pulling up to the stall. I pay for a map app that shows gas station prices (and which parking lots are free). Sometimes they'll have decent prices if you get a cash prepaid card or some kind of membership. The cheapest stations are either a 10 minute detour or I have to stand in line for 10 minutes (the cheapest in town is so popular cars line up across an intersection, incredibly dangerous).
On the highway the prices are even worse, since you're a captive audience (all highways are tolled and getting off and on the highway will ding you since prices are based on segments)
Electricity is also quite expensive. I did the math on my PHEV - and even if I only charge overnight when electricity rates are lowest, I don't save very much over using gasoline

The article discusses how the biggest problem is peak demand, but that midday electric prices have fallen as solar has grown. EVs are perfect for charging during solar peak and making use of energy that would have had to be curtailed, they can even feed back into the grid helping during peak demand.
Anecdotal, but I was never able to get FreeBSD (TrueNAS CORE, OpnSense) to get anywhere near 10 Gbps. Using Mellanox or Intel NICs. The Linux equivalents (TrueNAS SCALE, OpenWrt) handled it fine on the same hardware.
For some real numbers, I picked up a 2018 generic office PC (Core i5-7500) used for $50 as a backup machine to run linux on when my laptop was in for repairs, and it idles at 14 W, vs the OpenWrt One which appears to run at 5.5 W.
So that's 10 kWh/mo for the PC vs 4 kWh/mo for the OpenWrt One.
Yeah it was so popular they even released a specific WRT54GL model (where the L stands for Linux) in order to keep supporting third-party firmware after the main hardware series moved on to a more optimized VxWorks-based OS that let them ship less RAM and Flash.
A mainstream hardware company releasing a specific product SKU to support third party firmware really sounds crazy from the perspective of the current market where a substantial portion of the value in selling hardware is supposed to come from subscriptions and surveillance.
