Ah, so it's okay to copy and distill all human-produced works evee, except for reinforcment-learning data generated by OpenAI/Anthropic etc

Any $200k+ SW engineering jobs?
Thanks, that link is a lot better
Seems weird to dismiss stuff as "nonsense" just because you're "pretty sure". Hikaru Nakamura (who's been the world #2 in classical rating) did an IQ test on stream and ended up with 102. I've not seen any other results for top players.
The first study of it I found (https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S01602...) notes that, while there is some correlation, "Full-scale IQ explained < 1% of the variance in chess skill."
And if you are a state agency who'd like to keep the undisclosed zero-days you rely on secret, spamming maintainers with reports makes sense.
As a bonus if you find any actual zero-days in your mass-generated ones you don't report it and get a new one to play with.
Look, I have exactly two options:
1) Me and my entire family starves to death
2) I make 600k per year building surveillance systems for whoever wants them (as long as they're aligned with Peter Thiels and/or government interests)
Yes, all those people Meta just laid off due to whistleblowing on the Glass privacy violations, and their content moderators and data labelers and so on have my full support.
No sympathies for anyone doing SW engineering or similar. Anyone working there can definitely get a different programming gig. It likely doesn't pay as much but that's how it goes when you sell your soul.
Do you think if there was a mass movement of students moving off Spotify and downloading MP3s, they would _not_ be charged today?
The hypocrisy is what has at least me upset
Philip K Dick wrote a short story similar to this, "The Defenders".
workers should show more solidarity to one another, not because of “deserving it” or not, but simply because it’s the only way out of the pit they put us in.
In the same way we shouldn't have any solidarity with scabs, we should have no solidarity with the people who happily built the pit-pushing tools.
What do you mean "achieve very little"? A lot of American oligarchs made boatloads of money!
It's been a while since I saw that movie, how many sons, daughters and neighbours of those people does he kill, maim and abuse?
Assuming he kills several, how many hospital workers trying to help them and journalists documenting his rampage does he kill?
I would feel sorry for all of those people.
That's great, only like a generation of people having to suffer and struggle from say age 20 to 40 so that their masters can attempt to be a superpower.
I'm all for banning social media as well as tracking in general, and will also happily work to those effects.
It's also prudent to shame those who allocate and greedily take that capital.
Engaging in bad and immoral behaviour for capital is still bad and immoral behaviour, particularly when one has other choices.
Following rulings in several courts, the UK Supreme Court on Wednesday said Oatly could neither trademark nor use the phrase "post-milk generation".
The long-running dispute has centred on Dairy UK's argument that, under trademark law, the term "milk" can only be used to refer to products that come from an animal.
Next they should ban "zero sugar" and similar on packaging
Murder/homicide rate has been relatively consistent since 1990 https://www.macrotrends.net/global-metrics/countries/swe/swe...
"The law, in its majestic equality, forbids the rich as well as the poor to sleep under bridges, to beg in the streets, and to steal bread."
You'd hope there is room for a lot of stuff in between as well. I tried searching for some of yhe more unknown artists I follow (and have bought stuff from!) but didn't see any clear way to filter it to Spotify/music metadata only. Restricting to metadata+other cuts it down somewhat but it's still 100s of results for most topics.
Will be interesting to see what's there and not once the actual music torrents come up, should make it easier to search.
What is the evidence that these are drug traffickers? Are they convicted anywhere? Should the police in the US be able to execute anyone they claim are trafficking drugs or committing other crimes?
It's also not mandatory for the majority of jews, as they are not Israeli citizens
Also: You are promoting that we keep a grudge. Are you planning to let go of it sometime?
Sure! Once the people responsible for the wars have been punished. Any day now...
I don't think it's so much about the Rules of Engagement but more about "Don't indiscriminately murder people"

We go through maybe 10k CPU hours in our nightly pipeline. Doing that for every PR in a team of 70 people is unsustainable from a cost standpoint.
The existing tests aren't optimal, but it's not going to be possible to cut it by 1-2 orders of magnitude by "fixing the tests"
We obviously have smaller pre-merge tests as well.

If you see these or other pictures of starving children, you are looking at images of children intentionally being starved by Israel, and you should reconsider what you think of their methods and intentions.
In Sweden at leasts, balaclavas and other wearables "preventing identification" is specifically illegal _at_ protests. From what I remember the danish case is similar.
It's not just young people. My boss (originally a programmer) agreed with me that there's lots of problems using ChatGPT for our products and programs as it gives the wrong answers too often, but tgen 30 seconds later told me that it was apparently great at giving medical advice.
...later someone higher-up decided that it's actually great at programming as well, and so now we all believe it's incredibly useful and necessary for us to be able to do our daily work
"Core principles" here also being America assassinating and kidnapping citizens of other countries wherever they may be on the globe.
They could choose to not say it
