As much as I love the service and enjoy the transparency, I do wonder about the future of smaller operator services as the Internet continues it's descent into a giant mess :-)

Tried them with a domain that gets a bunch of spam, unfortunately their filtering is not as good as others like Fastmail it seems.

Love the keyboard shortcuts in the web interface, killer feature. Also the rules management and folder management is beyond what a lot of other similar providers offer.

If you plan on running your own inbound email, you would be better using something like smtp2go, dnsexit or others for your outbound.

Chatmail relays can be run by anyone, they are designed to be fairly minimal and lightweight, just running what is needed to support the "encrypted chat" part, not regular email.

Yeah it's disappointing after recently moving things over.

The provider was GMX and it was their fault, not DeltaChat's.

Noting that the team have put together "Chatmail" a minimal email suite designed for speed, security and convenience.

Also helps with the whole "onboarding to chat" and multiple identities not linked to existing accounts.

It would be great to be able to add some additional data beyond the listings to augment decisions.

For example passmark scores or power usage for an identified CPU.

I see there is very little standard format in the listings, so might need some logic to extract/guess at CPU versions etc.

The medical establishment bring on a lack of trust due to their close ties with pharmaceutical companies who's aim is to simply make profits from the "medicine discovery of the day", no matter the consequences.

If the medical establishment (doctors, scientists, researchers, etc) took no funding from pharmaceutical companies, it might help their position. Taking funding from companies that have way too often been found of wrong doing, just poisons people's view of the whole system.

I imagine for all the same reasons that any govt wants it!

I'm not sure it is a proxy war, as the Ukrainian government is not being instigated by the US.

Ukraine military spending is ~$6b/yr [0] and so far this year the US has sent ~$57b of "aid" to Ukraine [1], of which ~$27b is military.

The total US commitment dwarfs the contribution from all other countries [2] and it appears there is a request for another ~$38b [3] of which ~$21b is military spending.

So while one could claim that the US is not instigating Ukraine govt to war, it's clear that the US is funding a greater part of the military activities by providing equipment for the war to the tune of at least (to date) 4-5x Ukraine's normal military spending each year.

I also wish they had a standalone app to help manage the addresses. Like so many of their good features, eg password management, it can be a bit too hidden for those up us who want some control!

Are you able to share what made you stop using them? I've been contemplating trying them out :-)

Because networks are connected to others via different paths, it's not unusual that one method of connectivity would work and one doesn't.

Also the Internet has lots of asymmetric traffic, just because a forward path towards a destination may look the same from different networks, it doesn't mean the reverse path will be similar.
