Codex has gotten kind of nerfed with their weird choice to limit loc read to 250 and dropping middle of context a lot. None of the CLIs are performing well for me right now. I'm codex and claude max btw. Disappointing.

Not sure if this is a "thing" or if there's a problem with it, but why not live-stream video of every vote being counted so the entire population could validate at least the counting portion of voting.

Particularly for this kind of project, though as an accessibility person I'd argue every project, accessibility is table stakes.

This would have come in handy when a cricket was in my house and I was looking for sounds of cricket predators to entice it to leave my abode. Eventually I did find one on YouTube but it didn't work. Turns out crickets can't hear sounds, but do feel wind vibrations, which is why they stop when you walk near them.

I like this post. Also Seth Godin's suggestions on impostor syndrome is to congratulate yourself. If you don't get impostor syndrome it means you haven't pushed yourself or done anything. So embrace the feeling as the achievement it is.

Sometimes I want browsing. Sometimes I want no browsing. Sometimes I want to talk to a marketer. Sometimes to my personal advisor. Sometimes to a python coder. Sometimes to an ML SME. I can quickly change context with a simple @ and select the right context from a dropdown. It's a super fast way to switch the common contexts I use with a LOT less typing.

Look up neosensory. They are a company by David Eagleman who has some amazing TED Talks. They have a product that treats tinnitus.

You are missing the spirit of the whole thing. HTMX is a polyfill for the future state of browsers.

THAT was the name, ty. Google Hire. Yes, it was an excellent product. Leadership at the top needs to understand the cost in reputation and change the culture. Large corps aren't good at changing culture.

I remember losing an argument with my company (that I cofounded) about using Google's awesome recruiting app that was part of GSuite. I said I don't trust Google not to kill it if there are less than a billion users on it. Everyone, and I mean everyone else said, nah. They'd be crazy to kill it. It's part of GSuite. They offer that to businesses and it's too core of a suite for them to kill it.

One year later, Google Graveyard.

I just tried a couple of searches on Bing. "Market Size of Apple Watch" Both Bing and Google didn't answer, providing market share instead.

"novak djokovic age when he won first grand slam" both said 20 in an infobox on top.

In my experience it's evened out, with Bing better at image and video search.

OK just tried 3 more. Almost identical with tiny edge to Google, but seriously, not by much. Try 5 searches yourself.

I've been scared to take the VVIQ test because I guess, in the back of my mind, I feared, or kinda knew...that I have aphantasia. Even spoke about aphantasia at an accessibility talk a couple days ago.

I finally pushed myself and took the test tonight. Of the 5 choices:

1. No image at all, I only “know” I am thinking of the object 2. Dim and vague image 3. Moderately realistic and vivid 4. Realistic and reasonably vivid 5. Perfectly realistic, as vivid as real seeing

I am either a 1 or 2 across the board. I can't decide which. But absolutely never a 3. And this is making me a bit wistful. Particularly because I can't remember my Dad's face. His scent. My Mom. Mom's been gone 3 years. Dad left us in 2013. I'm so jealous of people who have vivid memories of loved ones who are gone.

Been looking at subreddit /aphantasia a bit too tonight, and blown away that people actually see sheep when counting sheep. Or that reading a book means literally seeing the action. WTH? I still don't get it. That can't be real.

Whew what a night.

Perhaps teaching math in an accessible way is the real challenge. When I was a kid...a looooooong time ago...you were greeted with "Math Problems" on day one. Perhaps a better word than "problem" would attract more devotees.
