I'm in the same boat! I look very healthy, I'm young and most of my bloodwork is great but I have many autoimmune symptoms. I started on semaglutide 1 week ago and your comment brings me hope.

I agree with how important this is, but for me, the most significant improvement in my sleep has been pushing my dinner very early, ~6 hrs before bed, and having it be my smallest meal of the day. I usually feel quite hungry about an hour before bed but if I get over that hump my resting heart rate is much lower at night and my appetite the next day is much lower. It was validating to see Bryan Johnson sharing the same findings on x.

I highly recommend the book Breath by James Nestor. The only health/pop sci book I'd recommend. Doing breathwork has increased my HRV by ~10ms and lowered my respiratory rate when I sleep. I no longer snore as a result.

I disagree that self-driving won't reduce traffic, at least from the perspective a Virginia resident. Commuting into D.C. is in theory very quick, except for when there are crashes. Crashes double the commute time, and there's _always_ a crash. This is pretty much the only source of traffic in my area. I think the primary benefit of self-driving would be lowering the crash rate, and as a side effect traffic.

I've regained my respect for Joe Biden. Stepping away from power is rare. No one does it. I think this will leave a positive legacy for him.

Cutting out added sugar and supplementing Vitamin D have both significantly improved the quality of my life. I now have the feeling that all the info we need to live a healthy life is out there and that good health is slowly becoming a choice. I'm optimistic that the internet has dampened the power that some of these corporations have had over our nutrition. I'm looking forward to supplementing omega 3s and seeing if that has any effect.

I don't think that this is the calculation that is made at the grocery store. Immense profit for the companies that supply the meat and flavor for the purchasers of it. The only people that actively know they are getting fucked is the farmers themselves. In terms of health, I'd rather someone in the west eat steak than potato chips and candy.

I've struggled with this a lot and haven't found the answer yet, but I will say that having a light dinner, just enough not to make me wake up at night, has improved my sleep a lot. I also stopped running and have switched over to weight training and that has helped as well. I think everyone's body is different and that these comments will only go so far for any given individual.

communication, organizational leadership, and actually understanding all the product requirements

These problems sound like a result of working with people. Smaller but more capable teams because of AI will need less leaders and less meetings. Everything will become much more efficient. Say goodbye to all the time spent mentoring junior engineers, soon you won't have any

The article came to a romantic end that doesn't satisfy how I feel about the workplace now. I have to admit a dirty truth, that I joined this field because of the pay and job stability, not simply for a love of programming. Because of this I feel distressed for its future. No longer can someone walk into a job slightly under qualified and grow with time. Companies will opt for smaller teams of 10xers that with the companionship of AI can pump out 10x10 more code then the rest of us. Simply put, as a 20 something out of college, I'm going to need to figure out how to make as much money as soon as possible.

During the height of the pandemic, I had such intense brain fog I couldn't retain anything I read. I would read then reread a sentence without being able to comprehend it. I didn't realize until now that I had gone weeks without socializing with friends face to face. Since restrictions have been lifted I feel like myself again.
