We currently have 40 million acres of corn dedicated to ethanol production. All our energy needs can be met by 15 million acres of solar panels. The same set of facts that make you sad make me happy.

Recently the postal service awarded vehicle replacement to a defense contractor (Oshkosh) who knows how to win government contracts but absolutely nothing about building reliable fuel efficiency vehicles. They are fine for the military when making things like trucks which can haul tanks around but an insane choice for building delivery vehicles. The post office could have easily gone with something like the Ford transit which has a known warranty profile and existing history and endless engineering put into it. Instead the post office is going to end up with a low volume turd made by a defense contractor with no experience making daily use vehicles. Government decision making is bonkers because they put ridiculous requirements in contracts, rather than just thinking logically about the most cost effective way to deliver Americans their mail.

I dabble in combining sleep deprivation with multi day fasting. Dream processes start to kick in, and sometimes the copying from the brain’s 1 day RAM to the brain’s long storage happens while awake. This process is only supposed to happen during REM sleep, but when it happens in awake real-time it feels like a spiritual experience. I didn’t take away the same message. If you want to help someone tell them the truth, if you want to help yourself then tell them what they want to believe. The terminology around illegal is a political act. It is illegal to cross a border without authorization everywhere. The issue is that in addition to raising the octane, some metal lead deposits around the valves which maybe makes them seal better and switching away from lead could cause engine failures unrelated to octane.

Your 9% number is impossible as at least 10% comes from purely beef production. 25% of ground beef is old cow meat, and it isn’t sold at grocery store meat sections. It ends up in processed foods and fast food. It is legally beef, but that is about all you can say about it.

What? Cow meat is about 25% of the ground beef supply, with half being dairy culls and the other half being beef cows that fail to get pregnant. It ends up at McDonald’s, Taco Bell, and Beef hotdogs.

What if the deep subconscious keeps track of sweetness in the mouth and nutritional requirements (conscience hunger and cravings)? Artificial sweeteners would break the biological programming and cause all sorts of problems including depression and inappropriate hunger.

Edit: I hadn’t fully thought this through, but in my experience sometimes looking at a clock causes the physical hunger sensation. I have also been painfully starving which immediately stopped after the first swallow of a chugging a coke. Artificial sweeteners would have thrown a monkey wrench in my biological machinery.

The only precaution required is to use wet cutting and grinding. A wet process works better in every way except it uses more water.

There is tons of decisions about factory equipment where there is a trade off between safety and the environment. Factory managers often joke about how various scrubbing equipment has OSHA on one side, and the EPA on the other. It is critical that the culture prioritizes safety above all else.

The push to switch to dry cutting was a “green” innovation. This is a California problem created by California thinking.

Mix 30% STPP with powder for hard water. 10% for soft water.

Phosphates keep the dishwasher clean for much longer. I just add the phosphates back to my powder. So much simpler and the environmental concerns have proven to be total bullshit. Phosphates can be managed at the waste water treatment facilities. Unless you are washing dishes in a river, the regulation should happen at the discharge point.

I don’t understand your comment. Are you saying that involving trial lawyers and US juries to collect big settlements from Apple is going to stop the NSO Group? Or is it that the NSO Group should be liable for the actions of their clients?
