What was the point of sharing this?
This entire debate over the years is because so many confidently assert that AI can think, or that AI will soon be our God, or our ruler, etc.
What a weird thing to say
Your Netflix bill is about to skyrocket and there's no guarantee you'll have access to those titles.
I think it's a far more generous conclusion than he's just a guy openly and frequently supporting genocide for free :)
The problem seems more to be that every last one of these companies are burning through cash at an astonishing rate. No one, least of all Google, is making a profit from AI. They keep dangling AGI in front of investors even though no one can really define what it is.
Companies like Uber and Amazon operated at a loss, true. But they had an actual product. And they didn't come close to the money Google, Meta, OpenAI and Microsoft are losing.
Ah it all makes sense. You exclusively post pro-Israeli comments on a thirteen year old account. How much do they pay you?
If I remember correctly, the side holding people in concentration camps and shooting children in their heads weren't the good guys. It's not surprising that someone like you is making themselves the hero for supporting genocide though.
An actual white supremacist right here on good ol hacker news.
The things people are willing to publish.
The "Hamas is the elected government therefore women and children deserve to die" is Israeli propaganda.
It was a single election 20 years ago for a party running on change, not what Hamas stands for now. It was a protest vote. Palestinians have been experiencing genocide for decades.
Your seething hate for brown people is apart though. I'm glad you're willing to share it for the world to see.
The level of mental gymnastics to believe the state of Israel has done anything but active genocide for decades is astounding.
It's a neat little trick to just say any child you shoot in the head is Hamas. Or any women a children you starve was actually Hamas. Or every hospital you blow up was because Hamas was hiding in there. Or just pretend that October 2023 was the start of the conflict ignoring the decades of death, apartheid, and brutality preceding it.
I'm just glad people like you are willing to publish stuff like this to the internet so we can look back and understand why genocides are allowed to happen.
Perhaps the fact that the Israeli state are the only ones making this claim, and many multiple experts, humanitarians, countries, leaders, are saying the exact opposite should be sufficient enough to debunk the claim.
I was unaware that you had a point.
This post and whole comment section is like a coordinated advertisement
Is this an ad?
They feel like cousins
Can you point me to three times Zuck has said he's a "huge supporter of the Fediverse?"
Hey there thank you for taking the time to respond. I have a few questions:
The sign up process is surprisingly difficult and doesn't appear to be working.
The CAPTCHA is VERY thorough. I couldn't seem to get it to agree that I was human. When I finally solved it, the submit button is hidden (you have to scroll for some reason).
When I enter my phone number it prompts me to enter a code that never arrived. When I click "I didn't receive a code" the app sends me back to the CAPTCHA (lol). I complete the captcha again and request the code.
I went through this process three or four times before I gave up. This seems like an ongoing issue[1]
Does the app have many users? Any users?
The last blog post on the NewNode site was July of last year.
According to the App Store there has been three minor updates- 3, 9 and 12 months ago. No notes on the updates.
Does NewNode have a road map?
I couldn't find any write ups about the app anywhere. No press coverage.
So, why did FireChat close down?
Edit: I just completed 10 CAPTCHAs in a row.
Because a single corporation owns and develops the protocol. It's single-vendor open source at best.
I honestly don't understand this PR strategy. So much of your success relies on trust.
When will we stop perpetuating the lie that BlueSky and AT Proto are open source?
It's not doing much to create the trust needed for this project.
what do you mean by draft? Is this something actively worked on
Man, of all the shitty unnecessary comments about my writing style as a blogger, this one hit hard. Thanks bud.
Non-zero chances don't deserve the hype AGI is receiving, is the issue.
And a lot of AI experts outside of the AGI grift have stated that it's zero.
What public cloud?
Four people mentioned proton in this thread without any indication of what happened lol
This is a really good point.
Define "perform"
Mozilla is very invested in the success of Threads-to-Mastodon so I'm sure they'll allow federation.
